FPS Drop During Gameplay (PC)

My framerate in the stick of truth was from the range of 30-40 and the game played as smoothly as ever, and it keeps this ideal framerate during the opening credits and startup menu, but as soon as I get into the gameplay (animated cut scenes aside) I immediatly drop to extactly 2 FPS. It's such an intense drop in frames and I have no idea what to do.
Would someone else with a PC mind giving me any tips or advice?

i have this problem also, thought i am on the uplay version

The game is designed to connect automatically through UPlay, unlike the stick of truth, but if someone knows how to get away from that, it might help both of us out.
