Spacebar and Mouse Broken?

There seems to be something wrong with the battle system. There are times where my mouse does not appear on screen in the game so when I enter a battle I cannot select an attack, however sometimes when I do select and attack, highlight an enemy to attack and hit the spacebar nothing happens. Does anyone know a solution to this?

The missing mouse on screen happened once in a long gaming session. It didn't bother me much, because I could use the keyboard fine.
But when I closed the game and started it again the mouse was working again.

Thanks, but the spacebar not working is the bigger problem, because usually when my mouse ♥♥♥♥♥ off, I just load a save, enter the battle again, and it works. However my spacebear still can`t commence an attack if I load a save and enter the battle again. BTW, you can use the keyboard to select attacks? Didn`t know that. Probably because I`m a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ idiot though.
