How do you install this on Steam?
I have the boxed collectors edition, and want to have this installed into my Steam account. However the CD key is Uplay and Steam says it is invalid. Previously I bought Stick of Truth in the same way and could install via Steam, so expect the newer game to work the same way. Please help.

you have to install it on your pc and link the game EXE file to your steam library and then you can launch from Steam. But you will still need to have Uplay launched for game to run.. but you cant install the Uplay version on steam directly..you had to buy the game from steam to install to Steam .

Yeah was expecting to have Uplay running too - same as it does with Stick of Truth. So you're talking baout 'adding a non-Steam game' to Steam, that option? If that's the case then that is extremely lame Ubisoft and gives me a second reason to consider returning this game.

The first reason being you announced a season pass after I'd already pre-ordered and been billed for this game (just 4 days before release) and I could have got a better deal packaging base game and season pass together.

Feel like I'm being punished for my loyalty...

What about Steam Achievements and Trading Cards? Do you still receive those while playing?

Dunno I mostly avoid games that require third party launchers only exceptions to this are South Park and GTA as they were too good to be put off by the launcher. But as mentioned this is NOT liuke the original Stick of Truth - you buy that on disc, install via Steam and then it launches Uplay. Being the sequel to that game I expected the same experience.

So for anybody else in the same position I do not think this works at all. I have trieds to add this as a non-Steam game to Steam. However there is no executable for the game itself, leaving only the option for Steam to show you are playing 'Uplay'.

Seriously Ubisoft this is really awful treatment of PC/Steam users. When people bought the boxed collectors edition on PS4 or Xbox1, have you prevented these uses from linking the game back to their gaming network?

Does the box say it requires Steam?

no if you bought it through uplay or the boxed edition you just need to activate it through Uplay and launch it through there. Steam is only required with Uplay for the Steam Version .

No, it doesn't But when you pre-order online way back at the end of last year (before the multiple delays) you don't get to see the box until it arrives.

Also I'm not debating if Steam is 'required' I'm saying I want this game accessible through my Steam library, showing my playtime in my Steam profile, and providing me with Steam Achievements and Trading Cards.

If you bought it outside of steam then no you do not get steam acheivements and cards, ect.

Your title will launch with Uplay.

The only option you have is to add it as a non steam game in steam.

Hope this helps clarify things.
could someone please make a youtube tutorial or something

It's a UPlay game, the only way you're getting it 'officially' in your Steam collection is to buy it from Steam.
So I have to buy it agian in order to get Towlie
