Do you really need an aftermarket paddle?
I've watched some reviews of this game and they all recommend getting one of those paddle attachments that hold the controller. Is that really a lot better?

it's a lot better in making you feel that you are playing table tennis. It's not something that anyone needs to play or win. If you have a lot of real life table tennis experience, it definitely helps with the transfer of skill

overall I think it's very much worth it if you are looking for how to make your play as realistic as possible

I don't suppose you have a recommendation for a product then? Yes I have a lot of real table tennis experience. Until someone ruined my basement, i had a table down there.

yea the sanlaki adapter and some of its variants are by far the best option at the moment. However, that's only for quest2. There are other adapters for Quest/RiftS. Not too many options for other stuff.

If you are using a quest, you shouldn't be playing the game over steam. It hurts tracking a lot. you should be playing it directly on the quest.

You can find out a lot more about the adapters on the discord, and also here:

Thanks. Yes I'll be playing it on quest 2 but I don't know of a platform for asking such questions there so I came to steam.

Looking for a 3d printable model for Valve Index controller. Anything available please?

I bought a paddle adapter recently and found it very top heavy. I started getting pain towards the bottom end of my wrist towards my elbow. I stopped using it for that reason. Anyone find this an issue ?

hi Velvet. It is highly suggested to swap out the standard battery for a very light lithium rechargeable AAA battery, along with an AAA->AA plastic adapter.
Additionally, remove the controller lid.

Together, this can save a lot of weight, and bring it well within the standard paddle weight. Any discomfort after this is one that you'd feel if played table tennis the same way. So i'd suggest to stretch, warm up, smoothen your motions, etc.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've ordered a plastic adapter so will give it a go.
