CD keys problems "Invalid CD Key" when installing! Look here!

Hi!

There is an unfortunate formatting error when installing Ship Simulator Extremes and it asks for CD keys. It is not obvious what CD key is requested.

The installation will ask you for the CD keys of all DLC's you purchased, and usually it starts with the latest DLC. So if you get the "invalid CD key" message. Try the other CD keys (start from the bottom working your way up).

Hopefully we should be able to resolve the formatting error so that the problem will go away.

As i wrote in the other topic.. The key is needed after launching the game. Pasting the keys from the bottom up wont help in every case. If you went from bottom upwards, my order would have been like this:

6. Ship Simulator Extremes DLC CCC Ozeana
5. Ship Simulator Extremes DLC DenizDoga Offshore Vessel
4. Ship Simulator Extremes DLC CCC Winner Cargo Vessel
3. Ship Simulator Extremes Ferry DLC
2. Ship Simulator Extremes Sigita Pack DLC
1. Ship Simulator Extremes (Maingame)

The right order the game wanted was:
1. Ship Simulator Extremes DLC DenizDoga Offshore Vessel
2. Ship Simulator Extremes DLC CCC Ozeana
3. Ship Simulator Extremes DLC CCC Winner Cargo Vessel
4. Ship Simulator Extremes (Maingame)
5. Ship Simulator Extremes Ferry DLC
6. Ship Simulator Extremes Sigita Pack DLC

Hi, Great game, really enjoying it! The CD Key I have been given for the CCC Oceana DLC does not work. All the other DLC codes worked fine, and I've tried all the codes on the Oceana, and verfified the downloaded files integrity but nothing has worked. Was looking forward to being Captain of a cruise ship! - who do I contact to get a valid code?

Find where you installed the game and go here: \Ship Simulator Extremes\Resources\redist

Run all the exes located in that folder (dxwebsetup.exe , PhysX_9.10.0129_SystemSoftware.exe and vcredist.exe) and also the DXSETUP.exe located in the DirectX folder.

Reboot.

Go here

and install that package. I ended up installing both the x86 and x64 versions; my Win7 is 64bit but I suspect the game is 32 bit!

Then reboot again. Now it works. Note it is very slow to start up, but it does work. The next thing is it asks you for a license key, which is the "View CD Key" you get in Steam.

When I installed mine, I started the game and let the Steam Dialog with the keys come up.

I started the game AGAIN, letting the same Dialog come up. Let the game inintialize, and Alt-Tab to the first dialog. "Copy to Clipboard" then Clt-V the keys when the game asks.

I did all of the currently available DLC's in about a minute and a half.

Well, you guys can say what you want but, THE KEYS DON'T WORK. VSTEP has been super secret right from the start. Their Pro systems might be compromised. So, we have keys now. Many years ago we were warned that modellers were not their first concern. Ta-Dah !!! How long does it take to repair a software gtlitch? A couple of days? Well it's been since Win 8 (8.1) came out since I've been able to play the game. (Not that there weren't many problems before then.)

I would review this game's gameplay but I CAN'T play it due to code layout errors. Yes I realize I could probabaly play the game with no or few DLCs but I'd like to play the things I spent extra money on and ended up paying 30 bucks for. I realize the developer is aware of this problem I hope they fix this soon because I want to play my $30 game. I hope this review is helpful to those considering getting the game as well as the DLC.
