HELP with 'Great Trader' acheivement (1 million)

i've spent great amount of hours travelling/trading from one town to another. the character im playing is clean, meaning that i've didn't activate cheats. plus i got the trader acheivement where i had to accumulate 100,000 dollars(or dinars?? whatever....) however the Great Trader is getting me nowhere...

i notice that there's a bar underneath the Great Trader acheivement to remind me how much more i need to collect to acheive it....this works for the 100,000 dollars trader acheivement...however no matter how much i trade, it doesn't show.... it remains 0/1 million.

care to help me out please.....

This achievement seems broken to me too.

But still, as i guess u could read it in game, it's not dollars, nor dinars, its thalers, THALERS. Is that too difficult to write? For your personal enlightenment : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thaler

"dark ages" refers to late middle ages, certainly not 16th (first thalers) or 17th centuries... Don't take your obvious lack of culture and intellectual laziness for "evolution"

The funny thing about the (rather stupid) diskussion of the name of the money is, that the word "dollar" derives from thaler... :p

Although the bar is broken and does not show your progress steam still counts your progress so the achievement will pop up once you reach 1 million thalers.

Are you certain?? i've checked your WFaS acheivements in your profile page (not stalking or anything) and i noticed that you've got all the acheivements....did you put in effort in acheiving those acheivements or just some kind of hack that i didn't know of?

And the 1 million "Thalers" Great trader acheivement isn't the only problem, the last time i checked the 'Power Shift' acheivement is broken too.

Any sort of help from you guys will be beneficial to all of us. thank you and good day!

I did not use any cheats to gain my achievements, I could send you my save files if you want. I am certain because both "Great Trader" and "Power Shift" popped up while I was playing. I'm not sure if there are particular players who are experiencing bugs related to achievements but they worked well for me. I know getting close to 1million thalers is a pain in the ass especially after the trade debuff patch.

What nation did you side with when you gotten the "Power Shift" acheivement??

It was Sweden but instead of going to the king I supported the rebel queen. I practically had no generals and conquered all the castles by myself. Took me hell of a long time garissoning castles.

Ahhhh so that is why.....coz i supported both the cremean khanates and the swedish empire and i got both the "Return of the horde" and the "Swedish scourge" acheivements. i never thought of helping the claimants before because the acheivement says:

Power Shift - "As any FACTION; conquer the map and eliminate all other factions".

it didn't say claimants but any FACTION. So confusing, but anyway now i understand. thank you, your help was much appreciated

I supported the Crimeans as well. I only got the Power Shift achieve after I talked to the Khan and left the faction. If you check my achievements, you'll see that I got Power Shift like 20 minutes after Return of the Horde.

As for Great Trader, the global achievements stats claims that a few people do have that achievement. Your buddy amossong seems to have gotten it the same day he got the other caravan achievement. Not sure how he pulled that off, but clearly some ppl are capable of getting the achievement.

nice job for getting the achievement..i heard that most players got that acheivement by joining a faction, conquering neighbour factions and then leave the service..strangely mine is a little different, i was doing the black mace quest (the quest was sooo difficult you cant even imagine how tough it was to complete it!!!) it was during the end of the quest when i met this 'guy' (i won't spoil the ending) who wants the mace back. i immediately achieved the black mace achievement and surprisingly the power shift. i was extremely happy and proud to have that acheivement..i totally deserved it!!!!

so i'm down with the last acheivement - the great trader!! i hold Amossong to his words that it's possible to get it..though i still have my doubts

I haven't gotten this achie either. I have counted on paper and added together all the trades I made up to 1M thaler, and I did it TWICE. Yet, no achievement.

I wouldn't mind having amossong or anyone else who has grinded their trading and made a save before reaching the 1M thaler achievement to upload one their save games.

As far as I'm concerned it is broken to me.

I also checked amossong's achievements and there is 30 minutes between him receiving Trader and Great Trader. I don't know how he pulled it off but it must have been either one hell of a grind or a simple hack.
