Idk, man, where is the male option in Barbie Fashion Show?
no, it isn't. there's plenty of reasons for women to not want to play a game without a female option, especially when that game has character creation but no gender option.
for me personally, i just don't enjoy playing as a man in a game like this. if it's a solo story-driven game like uncharted i don't mind, but when i can edit my character already, it matters to me. i just feel more comfortable playing a character i edited that's my own gender, i can enjoy the game more and immerse myself more and relate to my character.
it likely won't make sense to someone who hasn't experienced something like this, because as far as i've seen and i may be wrong, there's no indie title like this with only female character customisation with male "planned".
but the logic isn't that you should only play games with a character of your gender as the protagonist. it's that this game has choice of how you look, so choice of gender would have thought to be added at the same time as customisation.
it's upsetting that representing all of their community and potential buyers and players didn't matter as much to the developers. representation in gaming is important and it matters.
and you shouldn't get upset because you're represented and don't understand why it matters because you likely have never felt like you needed to be because you always are.
but in another thread you said options like skin colour are not planned for the near future. isn't skin colour easy to add? compared to a new female model it should be relatively painless. forgive me if i'm wrong.
Thanks! Looking forward to it.
Only played about an hour with a friend so far, but having tons of fun!
