Rob A Hut, get the helm for the theives in bald skull

so I was able to get to someones house in the south side of the map and found the secret entrance got into the hut, opened the chest which contained a bunch of other lower level gear in it. My fear is I sold the helm i needed for the quest. Did I not just get the right helm or Did i indeed sell it? Is there a way to get another helm from the house?

Dude, inside the "someone's house" you have to interact with a portrait on the shelf, this is the valuable quest item, and not the chest. (4 years later, but...lol)
