As a veteran gamer, I remember Cossacs as one of the big 5 RTS games of all times, and the golden era of gaming, that sadly now has since passed.

Together with
*Age of empires
*Rising lands
*Knights and Merchants
*Command & Conquer

this game was one of the titles that helped define what RTS ment.
And it is still one of the best 10 RTS titles even today, 10.000+ units, and complex formations than can make or break your battles?
The only other title that comes close to that kind of battlecontol are the total war series.
And they are TBS, not RTS.

I am therefore surprised that this title does not have a more active forum.

Kids these days don't care for games like this. It's all MOBAs and terrible Early Access games.

age of empires still played alot even a 125k tourny last year and bringin/brought new dlc out

Yah, this game still deserves everyone's attention, yet as someone has already said, it's all about Early Access Games and MOBA's. They don't wanna play game that require any significant amount of thinking.

Myself as a kid think this game is awesome, played it a lot when I was 6 or so and still want to play it.

Not sure why it is not working for you.. on my old retail version (without the DRM (steam = DRM) ) on it.. we did a fine multiplayer lanparty with this game, back when it was new.

but every played did need to have a difference licence code, and the cd in his cd-rom.

it is sadly more often that steam re-releases lack features the old classic versions do.
perhaps just grab some copy's from amazon or ebay?
