Fruit Ninja VR
Menu is impossible to use with Touch controllers
Hi all.
Just got the game, using an oculus CV1 and touch controllers.

Menu (retry, quit, settings) is bound to the B button on the controllers. This works fine.
However, navigating those menus is impossible, since it assumes it works like the Vive's touch pad. it does not.

To navigate the pause menu options, the thumbsticks must be HELD in that direction, otherwise the menu goes back to it's first default option - thus also makes it impossible to 'click' the thumbsticks in to make a selection, as you seem to have to do that from the 'centre' position, i.e. no up or down on the stick.

This needs to be patched fast, as I cannot access settings in it's currect state.

Hi [C13]CrazyFalco, sorry to hear you're having trouble with the menu navigation on touch. We've been trying to find ways to have the Vive scheme work with the Touch controllers better when playing through Steam. You should be able to use the touch controllers to access all items for the most part, it's just very touchy. My best method is to kind of flick the thumbstick to reduce the chance it will return to the default option and then press to select. We're out of the office for end of year holidays right now, but I'll bring this up with the team when we return.

OK, that's cool, as long as you guys are aware of it. I'll give the flick method a god this evening. Will let you know how I go.

Thanks for the response.

Looks like this hasn't been fixed then. I don't know if this game is likely to ever receive another update, but the gentle "flick" method does at least allow the menus to be navigated with the sticks on Oculus Touch. It's not ideal, but thanks for this thread & suggesting how to work around it for now!

Hi All, sorry for the late replies (we've been on holidays). I've added this as a new issue to our reporting system for someone to look into when they can.

Hi guys, we just wanted to let you know that the Halfbrick Team has heard your cries for help and rest assured the team is on it. We have been actively watching the forums here and are well aware that there are a few issues with Fruit Ninja VR that we're looking to resolve. There’s quite a bit of (awesome) stuff going on here at Halfbrick and whilst we can't give you a time frame for these fixes, rest assured we'll keep the community informed on our progress as it's made. In the meantime, if new issues come to surface, please let the team know so we can address it with the others. Cheers from the Halfbrick team!
