Antique coins good for anything?

Or just sell them? The description says they are artifacts, so they sound important.

I don't need any spoiler, I would just like to know if I should save them, for perhaps crafting or something.

Nah, you can just sell them after you hired a quartermaster. You will get 300 gold after a while, and even more with an Appraiser (who also causes it to sell faster). They are essentially a good way to make money throughout the game.
Artifacts usually do take longer to be sold however, ergo it may take a bit.
