so i accidentally saved over an almost complete game

i got all but three achievements, cleared out all but one map, bonded with every character, got every weapon.
and then i save my new playthrough to get rangda. right over my first save file.
and there are no previous versions of the "complete" save file.

i get it, i should've backed up my file, but here i am, with all of my progress lost.

any tips on how i can get the save file back? the idea of playing through the game for a second (unofficially - fifth) time is tiring :/

I don't believe it can be retrieved. In most (if not all) games, overwriting a save is irreversible.

well, at least i got some reassurance.
i tried doing some voodoo ♥♥♥♥ with the windows' shadow copies, but i think i corrupted the initial save file beyond imagining.
guess i'll get that stupid achievement (honestly, fck rangda) and start it all over again. thanks!
