[SOLVED] Install QuickTime error
tldr
1. locate QuickTimeInstaller.exe
2. Open as an archive
3. Install AppleApplicationSupport.msi
4. Launch application

Haven't used the software in approx~ a year and now it demands from me that I install QuickTime. Unaware that I already have QuickTime installed I just downloaded QuickTime 7.7.9 . Installed... aaaand I got the same error.

The situation forced me to use my brain. Here I present: "The result":

[ Solution ]
1. Try to open QuickTime on it's own. At the time of writing this post, the versions are:
Easy Platinum French 11
QuickTime 7.7.9 [ previous version was 7.7.6, I believe ]

I got an Error Message Saying:
"Please Install Apple Application Support"
< insert rant here >
2. So the problem is not in the Easy French Platinum application itself but it's an Apple issue:
After googling a bit more I found out that the issue is in the package structure.

3. Download a reasonable tool to work with archives. I personally prefer 7zip, but I've seen people use WinRAR for the same purpose.

4. Open the QuickTime setup as an achive [ at the time of writing "QuickTimeInstaller.exe" <- for Windows, obviously ] :
4.a) Right click the file
b) go to 7zip submenu
c) "Open archive"
et... voi la: suddenly you have found the AppleApplicationSupport.msi
d) install and this issue should be fixed.

If by any chance anyone from Apple software for Windows packaging department reads this post, I only have one thing to say to you:
Whatever you are drinking or smoking during work, stop it. It's bad for your brains.

How did you figure this out?

This took me a while. I tried QuickTime 7.7.6 then 7.7.9. Your method still didn't work. Then I did these steps

1. installed AppleApplicationSupport.msi (what you said to do)
2. installed QuickTimeInstallerAdmin.exe
3. Installed QuickTime.msi
3. Installed AppleSoftWareUpdate.msi

Then I tried launching the game (no computer restart) and it worked! It seems you have to install each file individually? I'm not positive on the proper procedure. I just started trying each one and it eventually started working. Thanks for the help.

Ah, in my case I probably had some of those installed from the time I did some iPhone backups for a family member and didn't realize. Thank you for the update.

Also: I'm a nerd specialized in IT, so... It's both; a job and a hobby.

But again: I probably should have thought about it as well. Mea Culpa.
