I love love loved this game on Android but I was a little disappointed when I launched this version. It's townsmen all right, but I'm not sure it's worth the price right now. For one thing, there's visible graphical tearing when I scroll across the map - it's also pretty frustrating that the buildings can't be rotated, and I'm finding the menu and buttons to be awfully clunky. The initial keymapping is very strange too, but I do appreciate that we can remap the controls.

My initial instinct was to refund this but I loved townsmen in the past and I want to support the developers. But I want to know before I play any more if these types of issues will be addressed, or is this what I'm getting for my $10?

Awesome! I look forward to updates. Thanks for bringing an old favorite to Steam :)

I am seeing reviews of the game saying that the removal of micro-transactions has harmed the gameplay badly because it has retained the extreme build times that these MTs were designed to bypass. Thus PC players are stuck with prohibitive build times where they can do nothing but wait for a key building to complete. Might want to look at the balance of build costs on PC?

p.s. I'd be insta-buying this but for this issue.

The build costs suck a bit in the beginning, especially if you screw up and build more, than your taxes can keep up with. (There is a quest called "Loan from the Treasury", it gives you gold for the special ressource. TAKING IT WAS MY FIRST MISTAKE) Once the town has hit a formidable size, you got more upgrade researches and a few Tax collectors and Carpenters to automatize the whole upkeep thing, stuff gets easier. Most of the current playtime i made on an endless map, with an end pop of around 300. That might not be much, but provides quite an amount of all kind of ressources. You just got to make it over some sort of break/even point, and it kinda plays by itself.
At the moment trying to play Unlimited till fully leveled and researched. (Hope those carry over into the scenarios)

Sorry for Double Post, but my 2 cents on the suggestion side:

I like to build tightly, and past a certain point, it becomes difficult to build roads accurately - some sort of an "simplified View" would be helpful. Weither like in Stronghold, where you can press space, and all buildings turn into flat rectangles, showing the spaces in between clearly,
or some sort of an xray mode, where the models of buildings turn into clear shapes, so you can see what is for example... behind a building.

Clicking certain buildings in tightly packed regions can get difficut and frustrationg. For example a Firetower surround by 8 townhouses in a 3x3 pattern, gets difficult to click on.

building roads could be simplified, instead of having to pull and aligen those 2 arrows, it could be a click and drag thing. Bridges (if its possible) could be shown beforehand when placing a road close to water. An idea for a third way of trnasport beside wooden and stonde bridges across water: Boats!

Selecting and destroying Objects with the "select ressources to destroy" option, could use a highlight on the field its pointed on. Kinda like in road building a yellow dot per field built is shown, under the pointer for selecting what to destroy.

A rotate functions for weither the whole view of the Map (doesnt need to be 360° Turnable, more like N E S W) and buildings that arent like the Townhouse 2x2.

Thanks for reading (if anyone does), and sorry if its written kinda retarded.

Store page lists Trading Cards - After 20h of time played, none received yet though.
Bug or not finished yet, that is the question.

Sometimes when a plague ravages my town, i recognize like 20 people at once at the Infirmacy, but they dont get healed. After saving and reloading, they receive healing. Not sure if thats a bug. Also sometimes, even with the Infirmacy telling all cured, there is still houses marked for plague.

The trading cards should work now. Thanks for the hint!
We will check the rest of the problems, too.
