The Chudan Master and His Magical Limbs

I have been enjoying the game for quite some time now.

I tend to play with Gedan, parrying until a long stun followed by a thrust to the arms to cancel a counterattack.

It has gotten me through most fights quite well, but it doesn't work against the Chudan master.

I had hoped to injure his arms to increase his action time, eventually getting both his arms to 0 and killing him.

After getting one arm to 0, I struck the other arm, bringing it to 0 as well. But while I was doing that, the Master's other arm regenerated to 15 health, preventing his death.

This also happens with the legs, and it happens repeatedly. The Master is not using any items, as far as I am aware.

Is this intended?
