Where and how do you find black stones?
Hi,
Sorry im brand new to the game. But know enough that the black rocks give you points to unlock things.
Where and how do you find them? People seem to know exactly where they are. But i cant find them on the map or with the sense you get.

Appreciate any help :)

You can't smell the obelisks or see them with the radar, but they're pretty easy to spot almost anywhere. The best places to find them are the winter area (they never have snow on them btw, so that helps), northern hills behind the waterfall gap, and south-eastern autumn area - those places are crawling with obelisks almost always.

Also the more players are on, the more often they'll spawn.

If you want to learn the specific places where they can spawn there's always this map :)

Something I did is to go in an empty Grove and run around to see the spawning spots. Like that I've created my own pattern that I follow and lead others. You will know where things are soon enough and if you play regularly. :meadowgoat:

As mentioned before, the snow area os probably one of the easiest areas to find the Black Stones (Obelisks) because of the black-white contrast.

What I usually do is head over to that area. If not, I usually play trying to lead myself over to heights or higher ground areas to constantly be having a better overlook advantage often over being on normal leveled areas. With the overlook advantage I more than once was able to see over trees and bushes and instead, over to an obelisk!

Also, remember to always look forward and high! Hope that helps!

Cheers!

Two great places for seeing obelisks as a beginner would be the meadow in the spring/summer biome, and the snow field in the winter biome. Both of these areas are open land with little trees or shrubs to block your field of view, and they get filled up with the obelisks. You can look to the distance from these areas and see many more from far away to get a better sense of what to look for while you're in more dense areas.

Also, once you find one, try to make a note of where it is because it will respawn in that spot again. Another thing is that if you're with a small amount of people, it's usually good to keep to the low lands if you want obelisks. Low lands will spawn the small obelisks mostly while the higher you go into the mountains, you'll find the skinny/tall ones and the large 6 man ones that require a larger herd to open.
