Moving toward where camera is facing ?
Hello,

Something that bothering me a lot while playing is the movements. Maybe i missed an option, so please tell me. The options to fix or follow camera don't do that.

I'd like to move like in many MMORPG or even solo 3rd person camera games. When i move my camera with the mouse, for example 90° to my right to look at a tree, i want to the walk toward this tree when i press "W" in a WASD setting and keep the camera mouse look to the tree direction.

In Meadow, when i do this, my toon is going straight, so in my example, my toon is walking to the left part of the screen, instead of realigned itself to the camera.

Not sure if it's clear... but it's really frustrating to move around without this.

If I understood you correct, you want to bind your character movement to mouse movement?

Unfortunately, it does not work like that, so you either can set up your camera move freely with the mouse or by holding the right mouse button, but stil do the same thing. Your character's movement is still will be separate from this and you have to control it with keyboard.

Honestly hope we can get an optional setting that lets you move with the camera. It was like this in Shelter 2 and it's rather hard to control your movement with the current setup.

I actually refunded Shelter games because of controls, only kept Meadow as it's a strange online experience, and doesn't require precise inputs much.

My only complaint with meadow is requiring the arrow keys to turn your animal. Sharp turns do not exist in meadow because of controls. Playing ball is more tedious than fun mmost of the time because you can't turn fast enough.

I've gotten used to Meadow's control setup myself (though it requires the right mouse button being held down at almost all times and sort of moving it manually whenever I turn), but I agree that a more "classic" third person control setup would be a nice addition. Something along the lines of how The Isle controls would be great, with the camera's direction influencing forward movement.

While on the subject, something I've noticed with the other camera option (disabling hold rb to move cam) is that the cursor isn't locked into the window which can get extremely disorienting. That, and the sensitivity doesn't match my mouse and feels a bit delayed. I ended up going back to the default option almost immediately because it felt so... off.

I like meadow's controls a lot and I like how you can zoom in and out to see what's around you, but when you fully zoom in it's almost first person except if you turn and aren't left clicking then the camera does a wierd flip and becomes uncontrollable. I thought maybe if you zoomed in enough it would go into a first person mode that moves towards the mouse so that you could see what is around you but also see it through the animal's eyes. I try to zoom in as much as I can when I play froggy then hold left click so I can jump up really high and look over everything :3
