Sudden Strike - Modern Warfare Mod 3 (Free Standalone Mod)

I just discovered this free Standalone Mod for Sudden Strike 2 / Confrontation which might be of interest for everyone into Syrian Warfare or similar games:

It's free and standalone, meaning you don't need the main game for it. It features a complete Syrian campaign with 11 missions, which is fully translated into English, plus some single missions as well.

On modern systems, don't forget to adjust the sound and game speed in the options menu when starting a new game.

I'm glad to see the Sudden Strike community still going strong after almost 20 years.

So i downloaded the mod and it works. For anyone interested it plays just like Syrian Warfare does. You can tell alot of work has gone into the campaign. Thanks for the links

I dont know how the hell your supposed to beat the first mission. I have killed everyone and the mission wont end please help.

This may be a problem occuring rather rarely in the Sudden Strike games or add-ons. Sometimes single enemies that ran out of ammo remain in civilian buildings and can't be sighted from outside, so you have to trace them down by sending infantry into the buildings.

If not that, it may be a enemy unit or vehicle that somehow got stuck somewhere and needs to be destroyed, until this triggers the victory sequence.

Because i noticed in the latest version there are single missions in there labelled 2.1 and such. Alot of the single missions dont work in the latest version. I want to play them.

I noticed the same problem, some of the pre-installed maps that were designed for previous versions indeed do not seem to work on the current beta.

I think your best bet to get the newest maps would be directly at the source at Modplanet:

It's a Russian forum though, and so are most of the custom maps. Most of the single missions are marked as Одиночная миссия, and there you'll find the download links as well.

If it these maps aren't working with the current beta, you can still download an earlier version of the mod at Modplanet or other sites such as Sudden Strike Maps:

By the way, if you still enjoy Sudden Strike in a modern setting, you could take a look at the other add-ons and mods as well:

I especially enjoyed Cold War Conflicts and Peace Enforcement - it's just such a shame much of the content was never released in English. Fun fact: I actually learned reading Cyrillic by figuring out the objective text in these games...

Dont forget the Vietnam Mod for anyone else out there. Its kinda modern you could say.

It has lots of English missions but the campaign is stuck in Russian i cant get it to go to english. I copied the language files over it doesnt make any sense.

As written in the folder name, just copy the contents (the files, not the folders) from =ENGLISH VERSION to EDITOR and DAT.

What this does translate is the menu, GUI and the Bloody Sands campaign (objectives, dialogue boxes, etc.). What doesn't get translated to English are the unit names or the other campaigns and single missions.

Yes some things will still be in Russian but the translations cover what is needed to complete the bloody sands campaign. There are a couple of translated single missions on the website in link below. Single Mission Maps are posted on the forum.

If more english speaking/reading people show interest the mod maker guy said he would look into making more translations and more single missions will be made if we all show interest.

Me too. Best RTS game ever. There is also a Modern Warfare mod: https://www.moddb.com/mods/wicmw/downloads/modern-warfare-mod-installer
Its best heir IMHO is Syrian Warfare, but the trainer hasn't been updated anymore. However, WIC+MW mod is still the best game in the genre.
