What`s a (Strong Enemy)?

I`ve been looking at some of the clans I never join and noticed the Saito clan. Its got Status Ailment Augmentation (poison) 20 percent. It also has increases close combat attack by 10 percent against (Strong Enemies). What exactly qualifies as a strong enemy? I have a few guesses as to what that might be. It could be talking about bosses. It could be talking about those red enemies that show up in Way of the Demon. You know the ones that hit you with all those status attacks and debuffs. It could be talking about anything that comes out of a fog wall. I tried to research this on my own but couldn`t find anyone who knows for sure. So, does anyone here know with 100 percent certainty? No guessing.

You`re my hero. Someday I will learn to use the internet. Thanks. I think I`ll join that clan and see how it goes. If it really does affect all bosses and red enemies that could be very useful since that`s the hardest part of the game. I`m also a big supporter of poison builds so this looks good.

do tell how your poison build goes. I wanted to try one too, but so far all I did was to put one character (~lvl 450) aside for poison build and then got bored going through storehouse looking for gear to use.

that +20% Ailment Augmentation (poison) will go up a lot once you contribute some glory to clan

for example with Kuroda clan I've been using lately it went from
Close Combat Attack (Status Enhancements): D-

to Close Combat Attack (Status Enhancements): A+
so much extra damage for any buff on my character it's disgusting.

The Saito clan is nice because it is one of the smallest in the game. That makes it really easy to advance and increase the stats. As far as my poison build goes, it`s all about my accessories. I`ve got a Yasakani magatama that increases Close Combat Damage 24 percent (when enemy poisoned). I`ve got another magatama that does the same thing. That`s 48 percent more damage when the enemy is poisoned. That`s a lot of damage if you ask me. I`ve also got all the poison status build up buffs I can get. Makes it easy to keep the boss poisoned for the whole fight. Makes it even easier when my teammates help apply poison.

As for my stats:

Body: 200
Heart: 5
Stamina: 200
Strength: 200
Skill: 5
Dex: 41
Magic:41
Spirit: 100
Focus points: 200 attack (Maxed it out)
Abyss floor: 999

That`s on the PS4 version. PC version I`m somewhere around level 200 on Way of the Demon.

this looks like a hammer /spear or maybe even odachi on switch build to me. I was thinking something that could apply poison fast - duals or tonfa or even kusarigama and something fun with reach on switch.

Oooh… since the build is around non elemental damage - poison, maybe have the other non elemental - paralysis on switch with some jutsu mixed in? Do you know if poison tick damage would negate paralyzed effect on enemy? And... I don't play my 750 characters, I am having more fun with "Now I can has build" so, characters around lvl 230 and up to "Now I can has graces" so, around levels 500 - 600. More fun to see how character will fair with normal game progression rather than end game and Abyss end floors.

I use the axe spin. It applies poison very quickly. Or I just throw the ninjutsu jars of poison. Poison ground traps work as well. Axe is the only weapon I use so I just carry two of them.

That`s part of the reason I bought the game for PC even though I own it on PS4. It gave me a reason to start from level one. I also wanted to see what the game would look like in 4k 60 fps instead of the 720p 60 fps on PS4.

Bosses and RED enemies only. In the other hand. Honda is the best clan. You have more damage with weapon abilities and take half damage from the first hit.

I think opinions will differ on which clan is the best. For me the top 3 are.....I can`t remember any of their names.

Clan that gives Living Weapon attack 15%. This is my default clan when I just want to make some progress in the abyss.

Clan that has Change to Life Stamina and Increases damage 10% when using heavy armor. Possibly the best clan when using an axe.

Saito is the one I`m currently using for my poison build. That increase attack against (Strong Enemies) is very useful.

So it`s just all a matter of opinion. I don`t think their is a "best clan."
