weapon grade and stats
i seem to be screwing this up really bad in nioh to the point im embarrased lol which im not affraid to admit

what im a little bit slightly confused on is some weapons i come across have different grades for different stats

im currently running a duel sword with spear so i been focusing on the stats that will help boost the damage for them but my damage seems to be crappy damage with my weapons and i have weapons that are withing my lvl range if a lvl or 2 below

what seems to be a little confusing for me is if lets say i get dual swords that have a b- grade for heart (if that is a thing) with a A- in skill should i put point into both heart and skill to get the most damage or just skill?

Second thing that is a little confusing (and sorry if this is obvious but i aimt exactly good at figuring things out like this) is the armor....now i have the nioh armor set that comes with the complete edition same with the nioh weapons. Should i just stick with them and soul forge weapons to increase there lvl or should i just go with what ever is the best at the time or have the best grades (for the best damage)

what i think i got the handle on is the ninjitsu and magic...those i get to 10 to get a few skills that help like the regen scroll and the fire and other elemental scrolls and the poison stuff from the ninja skill trees but the skills for weapons im getting an idea about but some of the skills have other clear mission or just ????? on them

now for me i like to use the magic and et upclose with high damage so should i stick with the dual swords or go with the single sword?

any help on figure out the grades for weapons and stats to lvl for the best damage is apreciated and sorry if this is all noob stuff but like i mentioned at the start im screwing this up bad and i aint exactly the brightest person

thank you in advance and sorry for this being so long of a post

Every weapon has a primary scaling stat and two secondary scaling stats. If you’re going all in for dual swords, then level skill as the other two stats won’t give you as much bang for your buck. But if your other weapon benefits from leveling the secondary scaling stats and not the primary (example: axe benefits from strength, so it would be wise to put at least some points in strength since it will benefit the duals too)
The secondary scaling stats vary from weapon to weapon. The most obvious case of this is with axes. Axes go str>stam>body but hammers go str>body>stam even though hammers are still technically axes. Don’t worry about that though since the scaling difference even between C+ to D+ is negligible.

If skills are locked behind a “must complete ???” Mark, that means they’re locked by a dojo mission which requires either more points in a particular stat or for you to increase your weapon proficiency.

Sword and dual sword have different strengths and weaknesses though tbh, sword is capable of higher dmg. But if you just want high numbers, then odachi is best for newer characters due to how powerful imperative strike and moonlit snow is and the fact that those skills can be unlocked much earlier than swords lai quickdraw or duals sign of the cross which are those weapons heavy hitting skills. Moonlit snow (odachi) can also be used while living weapon is active making it insanely powerful.

but is not the odachi a slow weapon? and for an odachi what should i focus on stat wise
LPM 15 ENE 2019 a las 7:56 a. m.
when lvl up, it shows how much increases the damage. if the damage is the same choose any. eventually u will cap 3 main stats. but mmm, u can lvl up stats evenly

check here

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/181161-nioh/74970134

focus on 3 stats, not 4 for both weapons. except for ninjutsu 20, magic 20 and spirit 34

for ??? skills, just progress in story

about gear, mmm, for dual sword? there is a set that boost Sign of the Cross skill

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/181161-nioh/75114258

but if u dont use that skill, mmmm. u can use 3p of this set and combine with other set

https://nioh.wiki.fextralife.com/Seven+Misfortunes,+Eight+Hardships

the thing is u will have agi B

mmm, there is a katana set, OP OP

https://nioh.wiki.fextralife.com/Dragon+Ninja

but u will left ur weapon choices, dual sword and spears

but damage, mmmm. my overall time to clear missions, in first NG, is 30 minuts, 35. a mission took me 50 minuts haha. that cause didnt use jutsu to boost damage

There are a few, but in general some good buffs are:

Kekkai Talisman: Super Ki Recovery + Instant Purification - and the purification counts for any "On Purify" effects you have on your armor

Quick Change: for obvious reasons
Tiger Running: That burst of speed is astoundingly useful in getting you into just the right place at the right time
Pleides Talisman: paired with
Extraction Talisman: Near infinite LW for you, or quick recovery back to LW if needed

Paralysis-resist Pills OR Resistance Talisman: Enough things get a paralysis effect that it doesn't hurt, and it's one more effect if you're running Kigetsu

Carnage Talisman: especially useful when paired with
Steel Talisman: to counteract the Defence debuff of Carnage - you end up hitting harder and taking more hits

Leeching Talisman: THE best Attack booster in the game. The life-drain is annoying, but provided you keep Tenacity and an eye out, nothing you can't manage. Most things should be dead by the time you need to worry about it, in any case

For the side-areas:
Cat-walk Scroll:
Suppa Scroll: combined, you can walk right up to most enemies and pose in their face undetected. Easy to avoid fights you don't want, or to line up that perfect Iai to the back. If you have to choose one (like Fox), go Suppa, as it's still plenty effective on it's own.

wow can use moonlit when LW?

didnt play today yet and learned something new about my main weapon haha

odachi is slow but not that slow motion like in matrix. u will deal 1, 2 hits before evade haha

didnt compare damage, but what liked about odachi is the range. at lvl 700 used a skill, the moonlit one. is OP, but super slow

use the weapon u like. there are many ways to increase ur damage

cool....would single sword plus odachi combo work....use odachi for most of the time but in close quaters use the single sword?
LPM 15 ENE 2019 a las 8:23 a. m.
mmmm not sure, but mmmm imo, no, because of the stats. dont know how other play, but i focus on 3 stats, so i will have more damage with a weapon than other

is not that slow as u think. also as said fox, is slow but deals high damage. if u dont like the dual sword like to keep trying, yeah, use the reset book and try the odachi, or other weapon

Ansakura 15 ENE 2019 a las 8:24 a. m.
i was only thinking of the single sword cuase in some areas the odachi wont be good cuase of hitting walls or in narrow corodors so a single sword for those areas
LPM 15 ENE 2019 a las 8:26 a. m.
u will learn how to use the odachi

u can use high stance for vertical hits

for skill, u have moonlit, and the twin moons, is a good one too

but it does make you pick a secondary weapon when you have to choose with a spirt so if i go odachi main weapon what should i pick as a seconday weapon
LPM 15 ENE 2019 a las 8:37 a. m.
yeah, katana shares 2 stats with odachi

check the link i posted

i did but just trying to figure out a seconday weapon now lol
LPM 15 ENE 2019 a las 8:44 a. m.
try a weapon that shares 2 stats scaling
Ansakura 15 ENE 2019 a las 8:49 a. m.
maybe the KUSARIGAMA or something
puzzlefox 15 ENE 2019 a las 11:20 a. m.
I use single sword plus odachi in my current build. The two work together very nicely. Sword is perfect for human foes since it has a couple very effective parry moves. Odachi is great for its range and it’s great for when using LW. For moonlit snow and it’s massive swipe range.

If you’re interested in kusarigama, it shares the same 3 scaling stats as tonfa and the two work together nicely. Though kusa is a little too strong imo. Especially if you roll a dragon ninja build.
