Just get used to them. Sure it would be nice if they changed that, but that's really a small detail. Was same deal with DS1 - DS3 as well. ITOW - muscle memory will just cover it nicely.
Seriously, don't let that silly detail turn you away from this game.
Or 3 crystals in abyss + boss. Or 3 crystals + hundred eyes meatbag + ... his ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ eyes.
Why is it so hard for devs to realize that we have a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mouse to steer and aim, and the target lock is essentially a meaningless controller workaround, which in kb/m scenario is only getting in a way. Or just look at third person games from before xbox times ...
FWIW one can get used to it, but it's still a shame as otherwise kb/m support is really well done.
