I really like the down to earth feel to them when compared to say darksouls bosses which are more like huge epic battles.
Do I die a lot to some bosses? of course but I feel over coming bosses in Nioh feels that much better because you have to really master the stamina and stance switching mechanic especially for udachi players where ki is precious.
Did Return of the Gourd with Karn in Yokai Realm with a Companion, and kept dying when the 3 bosses came out. Then when she went in alone, she completed it except there were hubby and wife bosses only - Obsidian is added for 2 players only.
Thing with Nioh bosses is you can't be too greedy with attacks for your first run thru - you hit 2 or 3 shots and back away, rinse and repeat.
But you say absolutely nothing about it?
So what.. you dislike the design choice of 1 boss? so you dislike all the bosses?
If you just dislike boss fights for whatever reason, that's fine.. But you should at least be able to suggest what they can do better for you. be it design or rarity or so on.
The only boss fight I actually dislike, is The DLC's cursed bird, That screams like an elephant. and that's because of the limited moveset and generally uninteresting challange about it.
White Tiger is personally pretty fun for me and I'd feel maybe a bit better if it replaced Oniyakori (Spelling?) The first boss..
White Tiger teaches a lot of lethal moves (lazors, combo'ing claw swipes, Tail grapple move) that if you notice them, they're very easy to dodge and get a good few hits in. If a few damage and health values were swapped, it'd be perfect for gameplay.. terrible for thematics.
Oniyakori has basic attacks and telegraphes his moves, And basically invites you to shove your tip into his rear end during many of this attacks.. Which is great for a new player, but I don't considering him more than a "Mid-boss" who just happens to be at the end of a major mission.
Also. I guess that's how the game treats him too. soooo
If I'm having difficulty with a boss after dying multiple times, I will summon for help.
Odachi playstyle suggests you can switch stances during a combo. Like you start with low stance and then switch to high stance with a strong attack.
Now, I liked just about every Yokai boss fight in the game. Some required me to fight 2 or 3 times my first time through, but I never found myself hating the fights as a whole, they are honestly fun. I never had problems with these bosses, and the ones I did manage to die on was due to ignorance or in the case of Umi, just falling to my death over and over again because I never learned my lesson. Same with the human fights/duels. They are challenging your first play through, but it made me a better player when I finally beat Warrior of the West, Li, ect ect.
However, LW humans most likely made me rage the most. Not because they are hard, some are, some arn't, but they are so damn annoying for me to fight. Now, Nobu I liked as a LW user, their fight was amazing for what it was and for the most part always enjoy fighting him.
Secondly, I really disliked nearly every boss fight in all the DLCs. They where not 'fun' in my opinion (I got a kick out of Sasuke, but didn't enjoy the fight). However, just like LW humans, there is 1 DLC boss fight I enjoyed, and that was Nine Tails. Coming off what I would consider my most hated boss fight up to that point, I was concern going into it, but when the fight started, I just loved it. It wrapped up what I considered something I painfully forced myself through into an end boss that made the experience almost worth it. Almost. DLC sucks.
As for missions, nearly every mission that required fighting 2 bosses at once I really disliked. Going through no cheese, no one shot my first play through doing those missions was like dragging my feet, and honestly was the reason I switched builds after I started the DLC.
Think you are confused bet White Tiger and Nue? Nue is the one that shoots laser ... not White Tiger which tends to jump and claw and uses his tail like a spider monkey.
White Tiger does the same thing. Has a straight line beam attack, unlike Nue who goes from side to side.
