ps4/xbox one controller does not work at all

Well I looked everywhere and tabing out or unpluging doesnt help. Reinstalling drivers too, so does reinstalling game. Xbox one pad works perfectly fine with all other games and it responsive in big picture and when i press xbox button i can use all buttons there too. Tbh I'm completly lost and about to refund this game cuz gg with playing it on keybaord. Any ideas maybe?

might not work, but did you try to unplug keyboard and probably mouse, when you launch the game to see if the controller works.

Have you tried it not in big picture mode?

Big picture or not still does not work. Also tried to unplug it but still controller does not respond in Nioh...sadly

I had this issue once with my XBox 360 controller. I restarted my PC and Steam and it went back to normal. I never figured out what caused it. What's weird is that the controller works on the settings screen and only be unresponsive in-game.

It was really weird.

Edit: I tried unplugging and other stuff you did too. And yeah, the xbox button worked at that time too. So i reckon the problem was on software level with the game itself

I doubt it's a software problem, as my xbox 360 controller as well as other controllers work perfectly with it regardless of plugging it in and out and what not. Restarting the pc can fix problems with controllers sometimes, but the problem is most likely the OP's steam settings for controllers. I once had a similiar problem with "Sword Art Online: Lost Song" with how my 360 controller would not work with despite it not having a problem with other games. The solution to it was one random setting for big picture mode controller options for the game that looked like it had nothing to do with the problem but once I turned it off it recognized my controller and worked perfectly. This game does work with a controller just fine the problem is steams crappy big picture mode settings for controllers most likely.

Try this solution it worked for me with the problem with lost song i mentioned in the other post.

1 - Go into big picture mode for the game.
2 - Click manage game and under "STEAM INPUT" click controller options.
3 - Under the "STEAM INPUT PER-GAME" setting try each of the 3 options (Global Setting, Forced On, Forced Off). Start the game with each one and see if your controller works. It should be easy to tell if it works at the main menu of the game.

Just tried it and it works now xD. but the funny thing is I tried it alrdy and it didnt change anything till now. Im so confused but thanks for help anw!
