status on weapon iirc more dmg to element, for example if you buff your sword with fire, and weapon has fire status, that will be buffed.
close range is melee range, range is ranged
dont bother organizing till way of the nioh where you get set and divine items which are what you should focus on.
skill ki reduction is basically using less ki when using weapon skills, skills like flowing shadow, Quick slash, etc. not the heavy or light normal attacks.
armor if im not mistaken, the colors of each stat is like how rare they are, white is common, purple is exotic, etc.
can't really remember everything on the game since its been very long since i actually played it, i only login from time to time to help people.
Cool thanks for the help!
Do you remember about stacking? Right now I'm using carnage talisman and medicine power pill, and it seems like they both buff the same thing, so I'm not getting a stacking bonus. Like if carnage is active, then it does more damage, and when I use medicine power pill my attack actually goes down, because it's taking over.
Seems REALLY stupid, do things not stack in this game?
Buffs and abilities do stack, but there are certain rules to it. An equipment can't have two types of elemental defenses for example. Passives like Unlimited Ammo do stack though and can be really formidable with the right build.
I know this is a stupid question and I'm certain I know the answer, but is there any way to have more than two sets of quick keys? Having only 8 slots is quite limiting. I'm using all 8 already, and I'm still only in the first area. I love my bombs, healing, and strength buffs, and I don't even have any magic attacks yet :(
there are 4 x4 in total iirc, can be unlocked from options
Once you have them, you can limit the amount that you cycle through in the options menu, in case you aren't using all of them at the moment.
Is reforging just pointless? Like it's always only white quality, even when I switched out a purple quality ability for it. It's also always the same few things, and always lame. I just 50 reforgings over and over, just to see what's available, and it was all garbage. Considering it's the same garbage, and completely random, and only white, just pointless?
In terms of soul forging weapons, I'm seeing that the only abilities that can be switch are those that already have the symbol next to them (like the two rectangles with an arrow between them). And then, the only abilities that can transfer to that slot are ones with the symbol and max familiarity. Also, if something doesn't have an ability with a symbol, then forging it with something else just straight up gives it that ability.
So, if I have a weapon that only has a single ability with a symbol, then that's the only thing I can switch out, yes? That's severely limits what's possible, and make it nearly useless. I've saved every piece of interesting gear for my whole playthrough so far, and I'm not seeing anything really worth doing here. The only real benefit looks to be that it boosts the weapon's level, making it do more damage, which is nice. So really, all I need to care about is keeping high level weapons to toss at my wanted gear, right? Other than that, soul forging doesn't really need any attention?
In terms of soul forging armor, it looks like literally the only thing it does is boost the level. So abilities are literally pointless here, yes? So all I have to do is keep the high level stuff, and toss out everything else that doesn't have nice abilities?
Realistically, the system seems super complicated, but it's all garbage and useless. The only thing worth doing is looting more gear, to hope you get something with good abilities, then soul forge a high level thing onto it. Is that about right?
Reforging weirdly only becomes useful on the later stages of the game. I don't get why they made it like that either. It just does.
Soul matching works only if you find abilities that you want to keep. Because of the increasing Amrita cost, it isn't viable to keep doing it. Example: I use it to switch around "Increased damage against Onmyudo" ability. But again, it all depends on your play style. You don't really need to get it into it.
Soul matching armor also is only useful in late game, once you've got your hands on Divine equipment.
it can only applied with elemental effects, poison and paralysis aren't one of them.
the effects that if at least 2 were applied and can then apply confusion are:
Fire, Water, Wind, Lightning, and Earth
Thanks again
this reminds me, poison and paralysis are status alignment, so if an item have those it will effect poison and paralysis.
