a connection error has occurred ?
I was able to play multiplayer yesterday. Today this problem arises. Is it just me?

Be aware that if crossplay is activated you can only co-op with Epic players. 👍🏼

thanks. My problem is fixed when I turn off the epic connection, but yesterday I was not getting this error when epic cross connection was open, do you know the reason?

Epic is just bad from what I am reading with connecting.

Yeah I'm on Epic and am constantly getting connection errors.

"Yokai realm with a companion" - Never works, 20 fails in a row.
"Random encounters" works at most half the time.

Not really sure what to do about it, thinking I might just ignore co-op, but I'd like to get at least one game of the yokai realm one in.

Having a similar connection issue in Nioh 2. Yesterday, I connected with a player on the Epic crossplay. Game hung up on a loading screen, closed out. Have not been able to connect to Epic in Nioh 2. I'll either time out or I may get a message in a Windows dialog about Epic failing to authorize.

I can still connect with Epic crossplay in this Nioh though. Minus the Connection Error messages I may get 0~3 times while searching for a game.

This lack of communication developer-wise over the course of Nioh 1 connection issues (which were apparently inherited by Nioh 2) turns this game into an even bigger letdown. A shame in fact, but as I'm not long away from being a teen I cannot invest my entire existence/energy into a single burn-out game anymore when playing SP, so MP is the only option to get into an enjoyable state here. But as we're talking console ports again, it's again no wonder that they proof to be unrealiable for PC.

Fun fact is, we were able to play in co-op only yesterday and today, yet it didn't allow us to connect again after reaching region 2... No reboot, no random region change-synch magic or anti-virus adjustments helped.

Attempts/Changes that didn't change anything:
- Visitor-ID on/off
- Region change
- Region limitation on/off
- Inviting players with via shrine with Ochoko bowls
- Searching with Friend focus on/off
- Searching with Secret work on/off
- Searching blankly for games without any focus (:wtf:)

If there's a general Server down for Nioh,
where the hell is the communication, devs?

I really, really don't know what the heck is going on with Nioh's server, but it's a truly crappy performance. And apparently it's only the western regions being affected. At least there are noreports on issue report sites from known eastern regions.
