Ethereal Bow Hunting...

I've long since finished most of what Nioh has to offer. Done many different builds, completed the Abyss, etc...

What I haven't really done, though, is a Bow build, which somewhat requires the 100% Unlimited Arrows effect.

I have a few such bows, but all are of the wrong Grace (I'm hunting for Izanagi, if that helps).

So.... where's a good place in the Abyss to go hunting for Ethereal Ranged (for the Inherit Ethereal effect) or specifically Ethereal Bows (for the effect directly)?

I've only 3 of these and as far as I remember 2 were from the same map (not even floor, but actual map) - Abyss floor 130. I guess farm floors 100-150. Although... grace inheritance - you've got nothing?

You want floor 130, which has Marume as the second boss. He always drops a bow, and 130 is an Izanagi floor. I'm pretty sure you'll also need relatively high level + focus level and/or have cleared a certain number of Abyss floors, though I do not have any hard numbers to give.

Defeat Marume only, Earthfold out, repeat.

Huh. Never thought to try earth-folding out of the Crucible itself.

I've finished through floor 999, have 320 +134-137 gear, and recently respecced into 1000 Focus Levels in luck.

Hoping for some good luck; I think I'll give 130 a try.

^^ luck is an interesting focus choice, heh, kodama swordsman blessing might help too with that bow hunt.
I've just checked and you know what's funny? I've a rifle with Izanagi grace inherit - do you want my save? ;) though my highest ranged are all 310 + 135?? - don't have any at 320.

lol, thanks for the offer, but I'm honestly pretty happy with my own save file. This is literally the only thing I don't already have multiples of.

Good catch on the Kodama blessing - I'll be sure to swap out. Think it's probably still set on items when I was Smithing Text farming on Hanzo ages ago.

I had the Attack Focus, and only switched to luck about a week ago to go bow hunting. I can somewhat feel a difference in how some fights take a hit or two more, but the loss of that +200 attack isn't bothering me much.

Did a good Floor 130 run. no luck, but good times.

Floors 340 and 520 are the same - Marume Nagayoshi as the second dude, and on Futsunushi. Curiously, the main boss for both is Obsidian Samurai.

Turns out a quick daiba-washi to knock both down, a final blow on Nagayoshi, and an Earthfolding scroll is very easy and very quick. Will go until I hit the 500 limit on defiled items or find the bow I want.

Thanks again for pointing me in this direction! Already got a few Grace Inherits on some swords - not strictly useful, but that's a rare effect and seeing it encourages me.

Yeah the irritating thing about defiled equipment is that we can't tell what sort of attributes are on them until we exit the abyss. I know that increasing luck pushes up the quality of gear dropped, I don't know if it pushes over from ethereal to defiled. I think having accessories with Ethereal items drop helps, but you've probably already equipped that.

Yeah, I've got Ethereal Drop AA- on an accessory (seriously lucky drop; it's got some other awesome stuff too).

There's an attribute somewhere that increases Defiled item quality that's separate from Ethereal Drop Rate. Have to see if I have that somewhere.

Update: got a 100% Unlimited Arrows bow... for Magutsuhi's Grace >_<
Got a Grace Inherit as well... for Kushinada....
