4. I assume you are thinking about using Enko against humans due to the Break bonus it gives you? I really don`t think that would be worth it. The increase in ki damage isn`t much and you`d get better results by just putting pierce guard on your weapon while using an Extraction talisman.
I think Kato is your all around best option. You get Close Combat Damage, Skill damage, ki, and ki regeneration. All very useful and practical. Kato also has some of the best Living Weapon stats in the game. If you really want to try a different GS you could probably get some use out of Kara Jishi. Only problem with that one is that its LW stats kind of suck. When I say LW stats I`m talking about stuff like Action, Recovery, Tenacity, and Amrita Gauge. But I still think Kato would be far more useful to you.
5. From every thing I`ve read and everyone I`ve talked to that uses the tonfa, everyone seems to agree Dragon Ninja is the most powerful light armor to use. I never use light armor myself but I`m inclined to believe it`s true. You can also combine that with Grace of Izanagi for even more damage.
6. Tracking does indeed suck.
EDIT: Forget what I said about Dragon Ninja. I was wrong about that.
quite possible i am missing something
i completly agree with izanagi and the other points
Their is no best armor. LOL. That`s the obvious answer and should have been the first thing that I said. I must be getting tired.
Their are many good set bonuses that work well with the tonfa and none of them can be called "the best". Armor that you find early in the game like Kingo and Armor of the Exceptional can work well with the tonfa. 4 piece Tatenashi is a popular one for the first 3 NG+. Last Great General is another solid set bonus. So it`s all just a matter of preference.
Experiment and decide for yourself which one works best.
to constantly trigger the izanagibuff roll life gain from amrita absorbtion on your torso armour and use extraction talisman.
red of devotion is medium armour but since you only need 2-3 pieces (depending if you equip the spear as secondary weapon or want another secondary weapon) and the rest are graces (defile pirate pieces for the minimu weight) it should be no problem to stay a agility.
I think i will go with 5 piece of the leader of the braves set and then add stuff that sounds good i guess :). But yeah for later maybe tatenashi etc. should be good
Btw: are the ninja scrolls kinda op ? First time i used suppa etc.. its so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cool to just ignore every enemy :D
I`m 99% certain Sarotobi drops his gunsticks. That`s usually how it works. If you want a specific weapon or armor just fight the person who uses it. How is your luck stat? Maybe it is too low?
Try equipping Daiba Washi as your primary GS and the spider as your secondary. That might help with the drop rate. Their`s also a few other ways to boost your luck. Check the magic skill tree. Their is a scroll you can use to temporarily boost your luck. Their is also a passive ability to boost luck. You can roll luck on your helmet by reforging. Rolling Equipment drop rate on your armor can also help your odds of finding something good. The Kodama shrine can also increase your drop rate.
Ninja scrolls? Haven`that in a few decades. But yeah. Suppa and Cat walking scrolls I`d consider to be must have. (Along with Quick Change scrolls.) Especially if you are in the abyss. Like you said, they allow you to ignore and run past everything. Makes running through the Abyss much faster.
As an aside, his (Sarutobi) set has a bunch of great (nearly necessary) bonuses to use Tonfa effectively as your main.
You will want to have No Parry (Tonfa) in your equipment somewhere. This will allow you to continue your attack chains even if an opponent blocks, and Tonfa's great power is that it drains Ki quickly. You'll be LW-breaking bosses, and exhausting everybody all over the place.
The Gunstick combo finisher can be very nearly as powerful as an unblocked Iai strike if you land it just right, and will be your primary damage dealer on most Yokai. Skill Damage + is a must.
Thousand Tongues (IIRC, it's been a long time since I checked all the skill names ^_^) is a pretty handy skill.
The rushing skill (Impulse? I dunno), the one that you charge and then rush forward with a pointed tonfa strike has it's uses.
Mountain Breaker is fun, but not necessarily required. It can shatter guards on lower difficulties, and does a fair bit of Ki damage even in the Abyss.
Tonfa's greatest strength, honestly, is the ease with which you can get infinite combos off, and the Demon Dance attack-cancel into dodge. When you've mastered demon dance, you should very nearly never get hit.
Other than that, like all weapons it's learning the spacing and timing.
Thx for the answer :). Yeah im running with 4 piece LotTB and 5 piece red demon atm.. when the enemies are on fire its crazy damage with the tonfa gun :D.
Im thinking of what I could combine now ? Maybe The Yukimura set or the dragon Ninja maybe or the light of heaven armor set ?
Yeah its so cool to just evade every attack with demon dance :D..especially from these annoying tengu yokai. I have the handle on dragon slayer now and use it every time.. great ki damage, good health damage.
Btw: got the gunsticks now. farmed a few tonfa revenants for that. Sarutobi didnt drop the text for me.
