If you're trained throwing knives this would not make you good with guns for example. If it were me, I'd also separate guns and bows. Being good with guns does not make you err... anything with bows. Bows are super difficult to master. This is the reason why crossbows took over eventually. Besides ability to penetrate armor due to weight of bolts there wasn't much training required for troops, where bowmen spent their life training and were expansive to lose in battles.
Imo, A agility is the best way to go overall. It teaches you to avoid dmg all together and makes it easier to do so. The only exception to that (in my own personal experience) is using the LGG set where when you die, the enemy just set off your trap card and you hulk out on them.
I have A agility, A Ninjitsu, and familiarity on my gear. Right now I am averaging 7k-11k on my kunais so they are still tearing ♥♥♥♥ up. I am almost done with the DLC, then will move into NG+. I will tinker with the different suggestions of armor, and probably theorycraft a few different ideas. That is what makes this game so fun...and the fact that you guys are helping me out is a major bonus to boot. It is nice to have help. Thank you :).
Go to blacksmith > disassemble > highlight everything except items of the set I’m using > destroy!
I don’t care about inheritable stats as all my gear will end up with the 20% CCD inheritable or +attack
Accessories are the only thing I take the time to look at. I will keep accessories that have bonus dmg to enemies poisoned or paralyzed and if I find one with yokai dmg and Amrita gauge bonus I’ll keep it. But once I start getting +ATTACK (value) accessories, I will sell nearly every single one I’ve been collecting.
The only things worth keeping, imo, is gear with good star stats. Like gloves with star attack (incredibly rare). I’d also hang onto weapons with good star stats and no inheritable stat. Those aren’t hard to forge but could result in multiple savescums to finally get to roll. Star stat armor other than the previously mentioned gloves isn’t worth hanging onto cause they’re so easy to forge.
I’d also hang onto EVERY ethereal grace piece you get until you beat WOTN as up until then, they’re very hard to come by. Ethereal grace ranged being the hardest to get until you can defile in floors 33+ in the abyss.
Other than that, the DLC set pieces are not the easiest to come by either as most of their smithing texts are a biotch to get. I killed gunstick boi over 25 times speedrunning that story mission before getting smithing texts for his armor and weapon.
When you are talking about "star attack" what do you mean? When do ethereal graces start dropping?
Oh, and the gunstick tonfa boi? I think I got the weapon smithing text the first time I ran it.
or maybe - also rare if it's 40.
For kunai build look for double star effects like: - this is rare forged gloves. I also was lucky with similar drops in Abyss treasure room.
And puzzlefox is right about "storage boss" - on my first playthrough I faced exact same problem - it was easier to forge than to look what's there.
I learned my lesson and on second playthrough I pretty much checked for star effects only on weapons, gloves and chest pieces. Star chest example:
Hopefully you won’t turn into a total build hor like me. I just switched again last night xD
Went from LOTBraves & li red demon to LOTB and yagyu but alas, I may have to switch again.. backwave makes things too easy yet too satisfying not to use lol.
The arrow mission sucks. But I got really good at speedrunning it to farm gunstick boi for his smithing texts. His set is very good.
