How do you beat Everlasting Duty ?

Even in Way of the Samurai, this mission seems crazy. You have the huge model of the Nine Tailed Fox obstructing your vision, both bosses start in their second phase, inflicting confusion on them is practically impossible, they both are really aggressive, have a ton of HP, do a ton of damage, saturate the screen with so much visual information that I often wonder if dodging is even possible. How do people even pull it off on higher difficulties ? Any veterans out there than can recommend a strategy that works across the board (every difficulty) ?

To give a bit of context, I have a rogue/toolkit build focusing on speed (ligth armor) and outsmarting my foes, almost at level 300, using kusa and spear. Thanks in advance for the help.

I don't have an overall one-size-fits-all strategy, and tbh, I struggle with this mission too. That said, if you're not using Sai-setsu shin's sake (the one that nullifies Elemental effects), you really should.

Aim to take one down first. I usually go Hideyori, because frankly he's the more dangerous of the two (imo), and yet can (theoretically) be staggered.

Only via yokai realm.

As for general advice this fights is easilly the hardest in the regular game, I found it easier to kill 9 tails first since Hideyori like to hide under her and block your attacks, in WotN I only could finish it thanks to having around 96~98% firearms damage reduction, you get speammed by so many ranged attacks that it's a life saver.

Funny how some bosses give people people problems, and some not. I killed nine tails without taking a hit and got the crusher title for it. I could not tell you how I did it to be honest - what I do know is I killed Hideyori first with LW, then ran around till I could charge LW again, then went to town on nine tails... with my Odachi. This was in WOTS - I tired in WTOD and got smashed. I think maybe I was just lucky the first time, or I was overleveled.

It's a pretty rough combo, Until many of the combo bosses, Nine-tails and (whoever his name is) are pretty hard to stun or seperate from each other.. and both have ranged attacked.


Personally, I never attempted the mission until I was mid-way though WOTD, and I still had issues.

I'd always go for nine-tails first. smart use of living weapon and weakness. Otherwise it's just a taxing fight.

Equip Suzaku as your guardian spirit. Use sloth on hideyori, and proceed to use guardian spirit talisman to the fox, if you can aim it right (really, just run right under its legs and spawn suzaku) it will stun the fox. 9 talismans = 9 stuns = roughly 36 seconds stuns in total for the fox. Stay to the right of the map when you smashing its head, so the fox body will block hideyori from touching you.
One more thing, fox is resistant to fire, so you might want to imbue your weapon with some other element.

Oh... if you want to do leeching talisman + suzaku living weapon for infinite suzaku spawning attack you can try that too.

I managed to beat the mission spamming Living Weapon. I started the battle with LW on btw. Even then, it's still really difficult to take them down...
