Tome special finds / Abyss Mall shopping: non- Sarutobi tonfa gun effect

I've never had this effect dropped or seen it in Tome's special finds. Trying to get it now. I've seen a post somewhere where dude said that if you have Sarutobi's tonfa equipped even in offhand the chances for tonfa drops (and this effect too) are much, much higher than usual. I've started my shopping spree on floor 30 - using kinda low level, all weapons specced character and am doing full planes clear, killing everything, some even multiple times with reset at shrine. So far got a lot of tonfas dropped, so probably what that dude said is working.

If you had this effect dropped, could you please post at what floor and what mob dropped it.

I think the Sarutobi Gunsticks Tonfa effect is weapon specific... With the luck build I have never seen that weapon effect on some other Tonfa weapon. I will check wiki real quick just to be safe though:

Welp. Even if you refashion you can use the weapon's gun portion normally. So it might be that somebody edited a refashioned weapon's name to let's say Anji's Tonfa, died to create a revenant and here we are. I might be terribly wrong though so take my word with some salt.

I've got a handful. I'm pretty sure I started getting them around floor 500, but sadly I can't remember much more specific than that. I'll post a few screenshots in a bit, of both raw drops and the one I've currently got in my loadout.

The tonfa I've got in my loadout. Got it as a divine, so defiling for Izanagi was simply patience, rather than patience and luck and frustration.

A typical tonfa drop - turns out, even though Tonfa Gun is ridiculously rare, that doesn't mean you're guaranteed to get a good drop.

^^ nice refashion (wouldn't ambush boots look good too with all white?). I normally go for ridiculous looks - my character has to look funny.

Okay... what I found is this (in telegraph style): Tome definitely could sell non Sarutobi tonfa with this effect (she now offers me a lot of tonfas and many Sarutobi's, her re-stock sucks though). This effect might not be Abyss only. Item level or divine / ethereal does not seem to matter. Best bet for drops are from Rokurokubi - they seem to drop a lot. For this I think Spider Nest Castle or Falling Snow Abyss layouts are good - few Rokurokubis next to shrine.

For some reason, killing yokai in melee rather than throwing a stone for example (my character is a stone thrower) nets more drops. It does not matter if I kill them with tonfa or that sword (can't remember the name now) that has yokai item drop locked effect. Need to run more tests on this - feels like an anomaly to me. Same as with Hanzo farming, after awhile, drops drain out - have to quit game completely and then try again. Not sure what's wrong with this - game cache?

Doesn't look like this effect as rare as 100% Unlimited Arrows to me - took me ~2 hours to get it - but could be the game RNG likes me.
