Before reaching the end point of the level look around and find the fastest way possible after opening nearest shortcut to a shrine. If you lose and return back to it just run to the boss. It's easy to fool and avoid enemies.
1. If there's less than 100k before leveling, it's easy to grind a bit more but not when more is required.
2. Summoner's candle are rare. So, I prefer to use the Travel amulet except some bosses can be too fast to use them - e.g., White Tiger.
3. What's a silabar?
Edit: Nvm, I found out what it is and need to store amrita at the blacksmith but it won't store more during mission, right?
Bravo devs.
You just need to find the appropriate shrine (some are hidden) and scout a good path. Those paths are always short and have either no enemies, or up to 3 enemies you sprint by.
This is an old school lesson learned form Dark Soul days. The game is not convenient in readily apparent way, you need to put a bit of work in it and the checkpoints actually turn out to be fine.
Never ever engage the boss as soon as you found him. Instead, backtrack to your nearest shrine and learn that path well. If you can't make it there in 2 stamina bars, try 3. If by 4, you didn't make it, you surely are heading for the wrong shrine.
Nothing new... Like in Dark Souls bonfires ;) And in MANY games from consoles you do not have save files just checkpoints! And here is the same! So why this anger? :p
Oh and after Boss fight game remeber this and do not need to beat him again.
That said I do have some different issues with the autosave system... Coming from Souls where you progress would be saved automatically and you would appear more or less where you were standing at when restarting the game, Nioh's save system seems to be more inconsistent, with less frequent saves. There's been many instances where I lost progress for quiting the game, for example I would finish a mission, do some stuff at the blacksmith (soulmatch, reforge, refashion etc...) then quit the game and when restarting load back to where I just finished the mission, losing all my reforged stats, refashions etc...
As for on the map, it doesn't.
You need to select save.
Well, it does now after a reforge, but it didn't initially. Just to be sure, I always select save while on the main map.
I too don't fully trust them autosaves.
