Water Blobs
I'm not sure what these enemies are called but as an odachi user what is the best way to deal with these? I'm on The Ocean Roars Again trying to beat the boss but I keep getting my ass kicked by these blobs.

you can light 3 torches in the level that will light three large bonfires in the boss arena
if you dont use the bonfires to add fire to you weapon, the small umi bozus will die when they jump in from the water

also, high stance attacks are good against them and of course fire damage

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOH. Thank you! I lit the torches and they both died immediately.

using Odachi myslef, the water and similiar varients are easy to beat, when you bait them in melee and dodge their slam attack, that leaves their weakpoint open

Yeah I manage to hit them for extra high damage sometimes but I wasn't sure how I was doing it but this makes sense. Thank you sir.

Firstly you need all 3 bonfires lit.
Secondly - fire buffs and explosive shurikens.

Bonfire lit is especially good to have for later difficulties since the "blobs" become those annoying bladed version and you constantly get spammed by projectiles. Easier difficulty, just pwn them with fire related stuff, e.g talisman and living weapon.

Use a fire gaurdian spirit and you should be able to kill it in one LW.

special shrines around the area, just go near them and push the button it says. Talk to the NPC in the start too.

If you are talking about the small blobs, if you attack them you can usually bait out an attack they use that sorta looks like them lunging at you, which then leaves a skull exposed. If you hit the skull, it will typically instantly kill them. Fire damage also helps a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, hence everyone else in this thread referring to the bonfires.

Talk to fuku near the first shrine first, then find the 3 large fire holder chalice thingies on the map and light them.

I also have one more question if anybody reads this but at what point during a boss fight would it be a good idea to activate living weapon? Or does it change boss fight to boss fight?

Throughout New Game, it's probably good to activate it when yokai are close to running out of their purple bar, since that lets you get a lot of damage in. Once you have sets or well-forged items and a spirit with a strong LW, you can use it at the start or when entering critical health since some bosses just die at that point.

The lady at the beginning of the map gives you a flint, then you must find the 3 places on the map to light them. NOT INSIDE BOSS ROOM! There is one very close to the lady, maybe 20 meters. It is like a small pillar thingy.

Best way to kill a water blob is to hold down block, let it do a melee attack on you, then strike when the core becomes exposed briefly. This will do a critical hit. 2 hits is usually enough to kill any blob. The ones in the boss fight can be removed via the torches.
