It's literally a key part of the game as it is what adds risk. Otherwise you don't really get punished for just running in and mashing buttons.
You keep acting like the game is sacrosanct and making any change to it is sacrilegious, you do realize games do not have immaculate births right? They change constantly during the development process. I just take that one step further.

But making an item part of one of the grace sets should be easy - set bonuses just occupy one of the 7 special attribute slots so you could take any item and add the set bonus to it, probably doesn't even need to be ethereal either. You would just need one item with the grace bonus you want and copy that data everywhere you want it

Considering that is how set bonuses opperate you could probably edit one item to be part of 6 different sets if you really wanted to. Just depends on if the anti-cheat recognizes it as an invalid combination.

I'll try that later and see how it works out, then report back if the modification actually 'sticks' as in doesn't get rerolled upon resetting the game.

Setting luck stat to 65535 (max 4 byte value) doesn't seem to have the effect I was expecting on ethereal drop rates. I was expecting every item drop to be ethereal, the same way all items dropped divine in NG+ or higher. Maybe 1 in 20 items is ethereal, even with maximum luck stat. Very rarely bosses would drop up to 2. But I never seen more than 2 drop from 1 enemy.

Ya, I've read that ethereals behave oddly - they seem to take more inputs than just luck and have an upper limit. From what I read both luck AND "luck while in LW" contribute to better ethereal rates more than just adding the two values together would give.

That said I think the latest version of the tables has a rarity boosting script - I haven't tried it out but you might.

welp after spending about 12 hours to only get 20 of the 40+ smithing texts from Hanzo I decided to attempt your cheat table to try the 100% item drop rate and either I'm dumb and don't understand how CE works or this table/script out doesn't work.

Looking at my status screen, my item drop rate has not changed

I do not pretend to know how the script works, but at least so far it has for me - every enemy I kill drops everything on its loot table... with the possible exception of npc revenants.

Just turn on the script and kill things to see the difference. The CE thread said it also increases ethereal drop rates, just anywhere near 100% - I'm guessing it increases the rate to w/e the hard coded cap is

its clearly dropping no smithing texts so either its not doing what's it meant to do or something else is up.

Hmmm maybe the abyss works differently then.

There is an alternative way to get smithing texts tho if you want them.
Make sure to back up your save before trying this.
You just need 1 smithing text in your keys tab as a "seed" then you edit it to instead be a quantity of 2x instead of 1x - when you turn in the text she'll only take one leaving you with the duplicate. You can then change the item ID to be that of the text you really want, and bump the quantity up to 2x again and repeat till you have turned in all the ones you were missing.

There is a quirk with that where if you have item drop % and equip drop % that they don't drop the texts. When you enable it, only enable item drop %, no equip drop %, and no rarity either just to be safe. You should get all the texts a boss has in 1 kill.

If all else fails:

Look on your stat sheet for item drop %. Let's say you got 15.5% item drop. 15.5 = 155 in 4 byte value. Search that value in 4 byte. Equip another item that gives you an additional 4.5% to increase the value to 20%. Then search for 200 value. If that didn't narrow your search down, then unequip the 4.5% item and search for 155 value again, if there happens to be multiple addresses on the list for that value, change them all to 65535 (max 4 byte value). That should get you your smithing texts in one run.

That's like really basic manual usage of cheat engine. The same principle is applied to gold, or amrita, available skill points, item quantities, etc.

meh I'll just stick to this stupid grind. I imagine I'm halfway through Hanzo's smithing text loot list. I don't need every damn text just the one with the inadome-style rifle. I doubt my luck is gonna be utter ♥♥♥♥ that it ends up being the last text....

Well next one you get, hold onto it and if you get frustrated try my alternative method on it.
You can also just skip the 2x steps and transform it directly into the one you really want.

Max drop % with CE gave me all of Hayabusa's weapon + armor texts and even his 2 skill texts in a single kill. Same with every other enemy I killed that drops texts. All text drops from the mob. 100% of the time.

the drop rate gets insanely higher in later difficulties. i don't know what text drop rates are so stupid in lower difficulties. once I got to WoTDemon I was getting texts left and right. Had all the text by time I cleared WoTN before i was about to start farming. All except Jin. He makes me kill him for hours to get Dragon Flame v.v

EDIT: it could also be that in woTD I started using Daiba who has a insane drop rate booster. With the spider as secondary and the 250luck I had from clan=yata mirror+onmyo tree, I ended up seeing pools of divines and etherals(just not of what I wanted) consistantly. Plus Daiba destroys humanoids cause herder free final blow.
