only thing you can change in a mission is what you bring /w you.
after you beat the boss (Onryoki) there should be a cutscene, & there you should default to the world map.
if you're stuck in a mission & dont / cant finish it, you need a himorogi branch item to leave the scene
y get the items think after first mission
y can use it but y will lose all y amrita gathered
Dont worry After the first Oni Boss you start to understand the Gamemechanic and it really gets a very good Game after that Point, well lets say the First Mission is a very Good Tutorial.
Thanks for the advice. I am grateful. But, if I was going to give myself advice I could have said it a lot better than a lot of your vague comments. I am not talking about all of you, but a few of you.. I would have said:
You can enter the gear menu from anywhere, including the map.
You have a Himorogi Fragment in you items that allows you to go back to the starting area, but you lose all your armita.
These guys pretty much said this.
I don't mean to come off as rude. I just think details are important when explaining something to someone who is new to something..
