Yeah, Hino is one of the easier bosses, but for a fresh playthrough for the first time, I think she's the hardest. By the time you get to the tougher bosses, you should have a very wide set of tools for dealing with them. But Hino is the first real boss they throw at you, and you generally at this point have NOTHING to deal with the crap she demands of you.
All her attacks inflict paralysis. By this point you've barely even met enemies that do elemental attacks or status ailments, and here's a boss that inflicts the deadliest status ailment in the game. if you're lucky the game gives you like 3 paralyzing needles to deal with this.
Plus, you have none of the skills necessary to capitalize on her openings. It's easy to say stuff like, "When she's flying, just shoot her." Ya, with what ammo?
So I get it. Really, the toughest thing about her is that when you first meet her, you don't have the tools to deal with her. Later though, she'll be a cakewalk. Trust me.
I have to agree, just got done with Tachibana in the side mission and he made earlier bosses look like nothing.
So congrats!
TLDR: Hino-enma is a good boss, and offers an exact opposite contrast to Onryoki. Between the two of them is the spectrum that most bosses in the game fall under.
Good job, Jar Jar! Keep it up, and don't be afraid to summon a visitor from the shrine! Most of us are fairly helpful, and enjoy this game enough to want to help a friend out ^_^
Not weird, I know these games are different for everyone and bosses who are difficult to someone are easy to someone else. For example, many people say DS3 Aldrich is super hard and I got him on the 1st try. Anyway, I looked at amrita memories screen and it says i got Hino on my 14th attempt. I think that's decent.
I played Dark Souls 3, the Surge and LOtF and that is probably part of my problem. I realized this game requires me to unlearn what I already know in this genre.
While it would be fun to play coop I really want to beat every boss solo even if it takes an embarrassing amount of tries (thanks side mission Tachibana).
Now what I could use some help with is the ninjutsu and magic recommendations. I haven't spent any skill points yet and beat early bosses including Centipede so far using only old fashioned sword swinging. I think I need to expand my tool set.
Here's a quick sumup while I go punch a pillow or something:
Ninjutsu:
Quick Change Scrolls, Shuriken, Power Pills
Onmyo:
Weakness Talisman, Sloth Talisman, Kekkai Talisman, Elemental bolts, Guardian Spirit Talisman
Keep up the good patience and you'll hopefully discover the amazing combat system that makes this game one of my favorites of all time. Happy Hunting!
