Good build to go through abyss?
So I`m level 750 but I don`t do as much damage as I see on youtube videos.

Just wondering if anyone could give any tips or a "north"for a good builds/sets to combine to go in the abyss.

I`m on the 33rd floor at the moment and I`m having a really bad time there.

As a self-described “total build hor” I will be happy to assist. First, what is your favorite weapon? Do you prefer a safe playstyle or an aggressive one? Are you looking for a LW focused build or are you trying to steer away from that? Are you looking for absolute raw power or a more skill-focused build?

Ps: I’ve cleared all 999 abyss floors and am on like FL 700 on my second character. My co-op buddy Deo can attest to my build horishness with how frequently I was changing my builds and trying new things with every weapon type.

I`ve been playing with katana since I started the game. So I wouldn`t mind changing for another weapon. In fact I think that`d give me an extra motivation to learn more about the game.

So any weapon would be nice

I’ll go ahead and describe my current build while I’m here. My current build is a full susano set with poison focus and A agility. I’m using blue dragon GS with the raccoon as a secondary, sometimes switched with the bat. I have susano 7p, and kigetsu 4p, so one weapon slot always has the kigetsu odachi, but the other weapon slot is filled with pretty much whatever I feel like since I have all weapon skills unlocked. My helm is a susano coiled snake Kabuto for the dmg to poisoned enemies bonus and one of my accessories has that bonus too, so poisoned enemies get a hurting.

It’s not a great build tbh, it lacks the super high dmg numbers that most of my other builds had but it’s a lot of fun and it does just fine in the abyss.

Well, if you like the katana (which I love the katana. It’s my favorite weapon) you may like the spear since it has many similar elements. If you want to keep a katana on yourself but have the other weapon as a switch, then Dragon Ninja might be up your alley. Plus DN builds are pretty easy to put together. All armor slots filled with DN, izanagi everywhere else.

Or if you want more flexibility, you can go with a intentions of gallant warrior build which makes it to where LW activates automatically upon death. It’s a really good set for the abyss to have that safety net.

But these builds can get high dmg numbers but they don’t really give the disgustingly high numbers, so if that’s what you want, we’d be talking about a kigetsu build.

I’d check this dude out. He has a million build videos and does a good job showing them off. Most are in Spanish but he does have many in English, so just go to his English playlist

Thanks for the link, puzzlefox! The build in the video is really fun to use!

Yeah, DN is good stuff. Sakuyahime is a great set and can do obnoxious dmg but it requires being scorched and you only get 5 fire pots. Izanagi is a good alternative if you don’t like having to use items. But it won’t get near the dmg of sakuyahime scorch bonus

I used sword+duals with my DN build mostly but the DN kusa+ DN sword does just fine with your stats mostly in heart/str/skill. With DN kusa+DN Sword you can make your ranged weapons a grace and your helmet a grace for if you wanted the hino enma helmet for a massive dmg bonus to paralyzed enemies too.

wtf.... Can you even poison 1 enemy? On the hardest difficulty it is pointless to try to use elemental or poison since not only enemies are either resistant or it is SUPER hard to actually get them poisoned and even IF you get them poisoned it wears off quickly.... what a waste of skills.

Actually, poison lasts for a good amount of time. The duration can go up to a minute and a half, which in a high lvl boss fight is a long amount of time.

And poison is one of the easiest status ailments to apply. The poison beetle balls in the ninjitsu tree can easily get the job done usually with just one throw, but 2-3 will nearly always seal the deal. There are enemies which are very strong against poison like ogress, but even the enemies who are strong against it can be easily poisoned by stacking a few poison groundfires. So a solid minute and a half of 999 dmg ticks plus your attacks doing significantly more damage is not a bad way to go.

Plus, there’s a couple extra benefits to poison. One, some enemies like the slenderman yokai are very weak against it and get poisoned super fast. Two, using poison galnut broth instead of elemental talismans frees up some onmyo points. Three, I don’t use much ninjitsu anyway, so it’s not preventing me from using anything of value, and four, it’s fun

O god not even close, a single gale shoot procs wind on most Yokai bosses, a single GS use of something like paired raiken is also an instant proc, even normal hits I can usually proc muddied in a half a tonfa combo.

And unless you are standing still like an idiot procs won't wear off because if you keep attacking with an element/poison attack the debuff will keep refreshing.
