nioh stance controls help
im using a custom controls layout to emulate dark souls imputs but im having muscle memory issues when using stances (high stance is still Y low is B mid is LB)

is there anyway i can ether A have the game default to the normal stance buttons regardles of my button choice? or more likely B disable the stance overlay so I dont have conflicting UI information messing with my muscle memory.

no to both A and B.
Nioh default controls are better suited for Nioh. It would take some time to re-train your muscle memory but it will be worth it.

Using custom controls sounds like more trouble than it is worth. If you are coming to Nioh from Dark Souls, switch your control settings to config type E. It is close enough to DS controls to minimize the learning curve between the two, while still being intuitive to Nioh's gameplay.

No, use default controls coz you don't need to remember what stance you are on. It is very natural that Y X A are representing high/mid/low.

Besides, all hack and slash games are using X and Y as attack buttons, DS is the only weird one here.

To be fair attacking with triggers feels great with Dark Souls because the game was designed for it. I've used attacking with X/Y here with no problems. Switched to RT/B (control scheme B) since there was a strange input bug and haven't had much issues either. It took some getting used to the stance button changing to LB but that was it. The stance changers are still Y/ X/ A so no problems there. So just try out all the default control schemes and if none of them work for you, pick the one that feels best and use it as a baseline for customizing. The combat feels much different from Dark Souls, you want to be able to stance change easily in the middle of combat, heck even in the middle of a combo. Thats where all the skillcap is here.
