grind better gear, overlevel, play in coop
learn game mechanics
change your mind..dont try facetank enemies.. try hit and run tactic.. hit->dodge
learn manage your stamina and how o deplete enemy stamina

it is Souls-like game 1st playthru is already easy mod, hard mod more less start at NG+

i wasnt able beat Dark Souls, but i fall in love with Nioh when i see it first time.. i must admit first steps was hard, but after all i beat this game (without DLCs) and then i just smash thru Dark Souls

by my opinion this game will teach u how to fight in Souls-like games.

here is few rules
1) when u meet enemy, only defend yourself and dodge.. watch his pattern and learn it
2) use your knowledge - attack him when u see gap in his attack / defense
3) dodge and survive is better than 1 more hit and get damage/be killed (dont be greedy)
4) use everything what can help u - sloth talisman, scroll what resurrect u, weapon enchants, living weapon
5) lure enemies back

dont worry about your build - experiment with weapons, gear and stats.. u will be able respec, change gear, get new weapons

fight with Revenants and get their weapons / gear (u need switch your game to online.. but dont worry.. u just see more graves (revenants) what u can fight with.. thats whole "online" in this case)

btw: u will start at castle without almost all ingame combat mechanics.. its only prologue, after that here will be tutorial :)

by my opinion is Nioh harder than Dark Souls, but in the same time it will teach u better how to fight.

if u like Japan Mythology and martial arts.. and Diablo-like loot, go for it

edit: if u wanna play it with Keyboard and Mouse.. read this:

The easy mode mods are referred to as Quick Change scrolls, Extraction Talismans, Leeching talismans, and the Kato Guardian Spirit. That should allow you to destroy everything in only a few hits. It also allows you to survive just about anything.

Are you sure you want to use cheats and trainers in a game with multiplayer? It`s kind of a rotten thing to do. It`s also the only reason I`m considering getting the console version of Nioh 2. I guess it`s technically not a problem as long as you don`t use that character during multiplayer.

It doesn't matter at all, the online hasn't got any balance anyway so it doesn't matter for ♥♥♥♥ if you pump up your stats or what have you. Someone whose grinded in endgame can come in and disintegrate a boss instantly in co-op, and why even bother with pvp.

Anyway, your best bet would probably be cheat engine. That'll probably have things to boost your health, change your stats, and hopefully even a thing that lets you change enemy action speeds.

You can use "unlocker saves"[mangacouncil.blogspot.com]... But, you will need to hex edit[howfix.net] a small address line on the save file (your Steam encryption ID) to make them usable in your game. CE trainers[fearlessrevolution.com] work also, which can make life easier / allow for "difficulty tweaking" via the many options they have.

Personally, I play co-op as either all-gun or all-arrow + magic class, which makes some stuff easy, while other stuff (e.g., boss fights) a nightmare... At the same time, is does forcing real co-op cooperation -- something I like. This kind of "class-based" set-up suits my tastes, and makes the game more worthwhile for me personally.

...However, whatever you end up doing (short of "god mode" style, game-breaking cheats), the game can quite be punishing -- which is the patented shtick of these "Souls clone" games.

Is there a mod to replace the Okatsu model we play as for the shoeless one in her boss fight here? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fMOrC_vLMH8
