Kingo's Armor is supposed to be pretty good for Axes, and I think Dark Samurai has some good Axe-specific bonuses.
7 Misfortunes is pretty good, as Axe and Odachi share scaling stats, and the set itself is pretty great.
Thank you for the reply. I am thinking about going either Tatenashi or Obsidian (Dark Samurai). I main axe and use Atlas bear, and am currently in WotD and currently using Kaido armor. I know you said Tatenashi has the best damage reduction, but does it make enough of a difference to choose it over Obsidian, since obsidian has better offensive buffs?
Saves your frickin life against folk like Mysterious Samurai, Yukimura, and Ishida.
Added with 100% Elemental Damage Reduction, and the base defence of the armor itself, and you're able to reliably tank hits all the way through the bottom floors of the Abyss.
