No Sound (2019)
I just reinstalled the game last night. The game runs fine except there is absolutely no sound. I can alt tab and run other programs with sound without an issue. I have a wired headset, but the game does not have sound whether I have it plugged in or not. Tried validating the game files, says there is nothing wrong. Not sure what the issue is. I've checked some articles online and tried the quick fixes, nothing seems to be working... (sound use to work at the original time of purchase).

Edit: I've ensured all my drivers are up-to-date as well.

Not sure what kind of headset u got, but if it supports 7.1 ( surrounded sound ) try to disable it, or use default stereo/ mono and check again.

EDIT: would be good to say which type of headset you have, and associated apps that runs with it.

I have APIE and a Triton headset. I tried without any headset as well, no sound. I also tried without HDMI hookup to my monitor, still nothing. I just uninstalled. Going to google some more and maybe try a reinstall again...losing interest.

Sad too because I had some fun playing even without sound, but kind of kills the mood a bit.

some softwares malfunction with nioh, such as Razor synapse, try disabling any program other than steam, this is the only thing i could think of.

So I have tried everything at this point. Including a fresh install. I did try rebooting in a clean state with no other possible conflicting software or tools running, including antivirus.

Not sure what is wrong to be honest, but I guess I'll just wait for Nioh 2 to come out...

Try changing setting the game to windowed mode or changing the resolution. Also make sure your default audio device is set in windows playback. Avoid playing in 1440p.

I thought I would follow-up on this topic and post a solution I finally found. This occurred through troubleshooting an entirely different game. It appears I had a corrupted DirectX file on my computer--causing various issues, mostly related to sound--on other computer games.

The quick fix is to perform the following.

Create system restore point, Delete XAudio2_7.dll from System32 and SysWOW64 folders (requires admin privileges), then reinstall DirectX redistributable pack (URL below).

@mythrem Thank you for this! I didn't do a system restore or delete any files, I just downloaded and installed and now sound works fine.
