Tips for Date Masamune (Wind)?

So I have managed to beat The Dragon Returns on WotN and even got the quick conqueror title with no onmyo, ninjitsu, or damage taken, but it was largely because he spent 95% of the fight in his water form, which I find very easy - I run with 100% RFD and No Guard Break Aiming Ranged Weapon, so his attacks leave huge windows where I can leisurely cannon his face and then hit him while he's down. I deliberately allowed him to regen ki while laying down so he wouldn't lose the water weapon, although eventually he switched anyway.

As soon as he brings out his dragon, I have a much harder time. He's very fast and I don't really know what attacks I can punish, except when dodging his dash-stab, and even then, it depends on him ending the dash close enough that I can get an attack in.

I've seen the videos of people who just get behind him and keep him trying to turn around, but I have never been able to pull that off successfully (although it's basically how I fight Ogress, Masamune is too fast).

u can bait his wind charge attack and poke him hard, otherwise his wind combo requires you to dodge really well, since the tracking is really good.

ive done this with axe (earth carver) ,tonfa (tonfa gun),sword (iai / flowing shadow) and dual(sotc).

water just head shot him if you wants to or continue whatever you are doing.

Thanks for the video! I think my issue is being too aggressive when he's in this form... your way looks a lot easier and safer.

thats the problem with date lol... game mechanic by right should be rewarding for aggresive gameplay, but his wind mode combo attacks tracks so well, even attacking from the back is iffy. thats why a lot of players dont like him.

He should be easy if you use your sotc build.

I haven’t neglected it. I’m still leveling my SotC build gear ;)

How could I not.. my dual has +SotC dmg, familiarity dmg A+, CTA skill -AA, weaken enemy weapon, and CC drain. It’s perfect.

Sounds pretty much like mine apart from just the plain old CTA skill A+ on mine. What armors are you using? Right now I run 4pc Master Swordsman, 4pc God of War Looks Down (Tatenashi), 4 pc Izanagi Grace.
