The Ogress
Not sure how coop works but I have had an offering up for an hour or so and no takers. Would someone mind coming in game and help kill her? :)

I can reliably get her to the point she rages and she gets me everytime.
Thanks

Nevermind. Just got here down :)

I would, but ogress is actually really easy.

Main thing to remember is mid-range is the most dangerous place to be. Mid-range will make her do her leap attack and her fast lunge-swipe. Both are powerful and hard to dodge.

If you get long range from her, she will charge you. Just jog (don’t sprint, I’ll explain later), and dodge forward (she will either swipe or try to grab you. Dodging foreword will evade either attack). After dodging forward, lay down some pain, and stay close. She will either swipe or leap or thrust her claws into the ground. If you’re right up in her face, her swipes will miss. She literally cannot hit you with that attack. Keep laying down pain, but create distance after cause she will slam claws down next if you stay close. Bait her charge and repeat. If she leaps, then your life will depend on dodging it. It takes some getting used to learn the timing on that dodge but once you get it, it’ll be second nature. The trick is to watch which direction she’s facing when she leaps, and roll in the opposite direction to end up behind her which will give a good opening to lay down some pain. If she leaps away from you, run away so you’ll bait her charge. If she does the attack where she swipes madly, if you’re close then stay right up in her face. She won’t be able to hit you. If you’re not already close, run away. If she starts blowing fire, Sprint towards her to your left and get some free hits in.

Her second phase is just like her first but with yokai realm everywhere which isn’t a big deal, and she’s slightly more aggressive. Her second phase triggers when she runs out of Ki (I think..?), but you can stunlock her to death once her ki runs out. It actually feels kind of cheesey. If her second phase is what’s tripping you up, just go low stance for less ki damage.

The reason why you don’t Sprint towards her is if you get behind her while she’s sprinting too quickly, she won’t attack right away, she will turn around and leap back putting you in mid-range. It puts you in a bad spot. Her grab attack is the most opportune time to attack as well as after her leaping attack if your dodge positioned you behind her.

Charged lunge attacks are great for this fight, like lai quickdraw (sword), sign of the cross (dual sword), and devastating rush (odachi). Cause these attacks will put you behind her.

I only remember that you can dodge some of her attacks by literally being right on her face... after that I activated dual sword meat grinder and she dissapated into thin air.

Yeah she also falls easily with weakness talisman debuff. She can also be hit with sloth talisman if you’re feeling extra mean.

Thanks guys! Yeah, the biggest tip was dodging left instead of right. Also had living weapon up for when she raged.

Saving your living weapon is a good tip in general for your first run through as a final backup, fight bosses normally and do as much damage as you can, after half health or so if you get in trouble instead of going for a heal go for living weapon instead, most times you'll end up killing the boss rather than getting a frutsrating near kill death.

yea she has that dead zone right close up in her face, but her front ground stab might still hit, so either get ready to guard or dodge sideways.

Behind her is also a dead zone. Nothing but her jump attack can ever hit as long as you stick to her like glue. I usually hang out just behind one of her hips. The jump attack is the best opportunity to punish.
