I don't think there will be a certain protagonist; I read in an article that it will have character creation, so you'll be whoever you would like to be. (who are we even kidding, everyone will be a girl, waifu everywhere you're looking)

Eh, the historical Willam Addams married, was appointed a Samurai (with lands) by Ieyasu, and had two kids, a boy and a girl.

My money's on us playing one of those kids. Laws of narrative casaulity suggest that we'll be avenging daddy-dearest's death.

meh.. I'm not my character, I am the cameraman, which ruins immersion for me in games but there's nothing I can do about it. Since I am at camera point, I always run my camera inverted - tried normal many times, can't get used to it.
I'd like to be either entertained by what I see as my character, or my character should be as small / skinny or as dark (if the game is dark obviously) as possible to be out of my view.

From the above my favorite skins for male: Hozoin Inei (I think he farts when negotiating ladders), Shisenin - also funny, Revenant, also Otani not bad except for white spot. In female skins I like Ginchiyo much more than the rest - smallest and probably the quietest - girls for some reason are loud in this game, looking at you Tome.. stop yelling at me. Anyways, the rest of the girls are probably equal with Maria being my least favorite - the long cape and blonde are the reasons.

As long as they don't turn William into a villain you have to kill or kill him offscreen, the worst ways to get rid of a former main character, I don't mind the new character.
Now, I would love if an older William helps Nioh 2's main character at some point.

There are many reasons to give Fuku a try. Two more, in fact, than any of the other skins :)

That said, I prefer being a walking tank. Thus, the Honda-Gundam is my go-to ^_^

Okatsu... now there's a waste of what could have been in the DLC. That said, if the new protags are William's kids, they had to stick to his actual wife to some degree.

I kind of hope they will pick a different era in history. Sure sengoku period is cool... but there are a billion games set there. I'd like to explore another point in Japan's history.

I'd really like to see the rise of the first shogunate, with the Minamoto / Taira war, or something like that. Only major drawback to that would be no firearms.

Of course since they left the Maria plot unresolved I agree a straight sequel seems more likely.
