Can't change xbox one controls mapping
Hi

I tried to set the control mapping, but the setting is not saving.
The message box shows saving success to custom slot (not A~F)
, but I enter the control setting again, the mapping restore to default but the slot is custom.

Sorry about my poor english, and hope someone can help me, thanks.

don't enter control setting again. Also defaults will work better in the long run than anything re-mapped.

I checked this. What might be happening is that the buttons switch in the menu too.

Meaning if you change light attack (X) to and Roll (A), A and X are switched even what they do in the menus. So maybe you're cancelling and not saving the settings by accident.

hmm works fine here for those two. I don't know where Nioh saves controls but check your rights, makes sure nothing in \Nioh\Savedata is readonly and maybe check registry?

All files are not readonly.
I also reinstall this game, but the problem still exists.
I can mapping control by xbox one elite app.
Although it is not the best solution, but it works at least.

Thanks for your help.

I’m interested how you swapped Menu and View (what you call buttons 7 and 8) in Xbox accessories app, because I don’t see this option.

To make it clearer: I can re-map A button to Menu or View but I can’t remap Menu to something else. Not that I want to do this, just curious.

Xbox One Elite controller here. The only things I have in config I’m using for Nioh are: Left Stick on Smooth with a bit more aggressive curve, left and right triggers 50-100 sensitivity and I always have Xbox button brightness off in all configs. That’s all.

If you are up for trying to fix your mapping in Nioh though, here’s is what I suggest you do.

Start Steam in Big Picture mode. Go Settings -> Controller Settings, make sure only Xbox configuration support selected. Still in Big Picture, go Library -> Nioh -> Manage Game -> Controller Application Options -> Use Steam Configuration for non-Steam Controllers. Set this to Forced Off. This setting will fix accidental double tap for shortcuts in Nioh (I also make it even better with triggers sensitivity on 50-100).

If the above doesn’t fix it then I’m out of ideas.

I just used Menu and View for example on video, so I don't change these buttons in game.

In fact, I want to swap buttons A and B.
So I swap A and B by Xbox accessories app, and switch confirmation button in game.
It let me dodge by button B(physical button) and confirm by button A(physical button).
(Although the icons of A and B are exchanged in game)

The setting in Big Picture still didn't work.
But I can play by above way.

Thank you again for giving me so many suggest :)
