Best Guardian Spirits for my setup?
So I am currently using Enko first and then Nine Tails as second. I am going for fire damage with Twin Dragon Tonfa as first weapon and a Odachi as second.

My currently skill points are:
Body: 30
Heart: 30
Stamina: 60
Strength: 51
Skill: 30
Dexterity: 25
Magic: 27
Spirit: 34

Which two Guardians should work best with fire damage tonfa?

something with might and damage

I dont think focusing your build around a specific weapon element is effective. Your skill points are thrown around the place like dex and heart. You've got a lot of points in spirit as well, solely for the use of Ninetails. You have literally no points into skill, which should be maxed if you wanted damage for your tonfa. I don't know what armour you're using, but if you need 60/51 for carryweight then i suggest you dont even use the tonfa.

If you really dont care and just want fire damage, you've already picked two guardian spirits that offer bonus fire damage out of the three, so i dont understand what you want.

Also, if you're using your weapon's fire damage instead of a fire talisman, i strongly suggest you switch to a better tonfa and just use the fire talisman, which would be so much more useful in terms of dps.

unless you build *specfically* into elemental damage (+ Fire damage on both weapons) your choice of gaurdians is more of a small advantage, VS Living Weapon viability.

If all your looking for is additional fire damage, anyone who builds ontop of adding Fire Elemental damage is good, and that's pretty much all you can do with Gaurdians, as be said.

but i disagree with a bit.. Long as your using the Odachi and living weapon/magic a good bit., your skill placement is good. For Tonfa main? not so much. I never feel Spirit is unneeded though, as it benifits a good well rounded character the most.

Most of your min.maxing comes from your armour traits.. There are 5 or 6 gaurdians with special traits (Survive with 1hp, unless in critial condition. instant revive/healing and living weapon proc)

I find gaurdians most valuable for their signature attack.

Why my build is like this is because I am going for all of the achievements. I went for 20 in all stats for the Dojos. Also Tonfa wasnt even suppose to be my main weapon, I used Sword and Odachi at start but when I skilled up with all the weapons for the Mystic Art acheivement I noticed that Tonfa is really fun to use and Odachi is awesome for the range and stagger.

I use the Fire Talisman on my Odachi when I feel like Odachi is more safe or necessary to use. I also use a quite heavy armour, that's why I got the high Stamina.

As mentioned above I have 34 Spirit for the Nine Tails and Spirit increses the Guardian damage?

I could go back to Sword again if you think that is better, but I didn't really find any other weapon interesting. Maybe the Dual Sword.

Also another question. Which set should I use if I only focus on Odachi? Thanks for answers btw.

Honestly, Odachi is the worst weapon type to find a set for, Very few things benifit the Odachi directly.

Warrior Of The West is probably the best set for damage outright, it's heavily used by nearly anyone. But you might want to mix that *specfically* the dou-dog Gaurdian, and use lightning on your weapon.

All the weapons are viable, So stick with whatever you enjoy. (though some skills are slightly OP for situations.)

So you recommend Lightning instead of Fire? Hm, interesting. How come? Isn't Fire more powerfull?

I am sick and tired of warrior of west sets from revenants. I want more unique sets.

If your good at blocking and dodging, you can try, kato/karajishi as main gs. Red demon 5pcs for + damage ( scorched), rest fanatic armor armor and sword, plus your tonfa.

2nd gs i would pick bat or that reduces close combat ki usage green color thingy, forget the name. Or even centipede if your playing aggressively against block spamming target.

TR-RexEvil: I agree with you there.

James D Bad RAger: hmm, I will look more closely into that. Thanks!

true, there aren't many specificly for the Odachi but personally I quite like the crossed sickles set. And it even is generally useful regardless of weapon choice so you aren't even "locked" into using only the weapon the set was made for. It only needs a little adjustment to playstyle due to the dmg bonus from behind. Can't just dodge back all the time anymore if you want full stats from the set.

it's for the set bonus of warrior of the west. One bonus is 27% increased attack and defense against electrified enemies.

Nanashi: Oh I see, that's why. Thanks! I will also look more closely into the Sickles set.

I am using the full set of Tatenashi btw, getting more damage depends on how much I weight. But now I wonder if that is even worth it. Because I am still under 70% of the weight capacity and maybe I need more for the damage boost to be worth it.
Deostades Mar 3, 2018 @ 9:15am
IIRC, the weight-damage bonus from Tatenashi is quickly overshadowed by a couple CCD +10% from mixing and matching sets.

Also, just in case you're not aware of the elemental differences. All of them give you additional damage but their status effects are a bit different.

Fire - Causes additional damage over time, quickly. (if *you* are on fire, you can shorten it by rolling)
Lightning - Slows down all animation, including attack and movement, You can stack this with sloth.
Water - increases the amount of raw damage taken.
Earth - Causes a lot more ki damage
Wind - major loss in attack power, blocking costs more ki.

Lightning is used alot, because of the advantage it gives someone with speed. making it easier to dodge and see attacks coming.

Personally, I actually really like Earth, even though it's unpopular. as many bosses are weak to Earth and I enjoy focusing my current build around Finishing blows.

Theres also poison and paralysis too, I feel they're both self explantaroy though.

Deostades: I see, thanks!

Kiroshi: I didn't know all that actually. I only knew fire and lightning. Thank you for that information!
