Advice for Maria

I can't seem to beat her, even with help. When I fight her alone I die almost immediately...

You need to be more specific. Your build and your gear .

If you are having trouble in way of samurai, I suggest to use green bird’s Guardian spirit talisman that can easily knock her down and final blow . ( wind elemental Guardian spirit acquired very start of the game )

This is cheese way . If you don’t want to cheese , just learn to dodge her moves , especially grab attack and shockwave . She is Glass Cannon .. can do a lot of damage but squishy as hell .

Maria is not much of a crusher, Her combos (especially that nasty 'slap' grab) are where most of her threats come from., You may be a little underleveled if you're dying right off that bat to her though.


She's human, so draining her stamina with aggressive attacks can pay off, she can also be parried and a few of her attacks have wide tells, make sure when you're in close, you commit to keeping her busy. and while you're at range, you wait until you're at 100%, or at least bully her with kunai/shuriken or other thrown weapons.

My strat is to alternate between mid and low stance for blocking/dodge respsectively. After her stamina drops to around 30-40%, all in with ki draining attacks. in low stance you should be able to get one or two hits in after each of her combos. Her sword beam is kinda awkward to dodge. you have to run to the other end of the room and stick along the wall.

I apologize for not being more specific, I was frustrated and tired.

I'm level 130 ish with level 145-150 Warrior of the West armor. Using Swords and Dual-Swords, Raikiri and the dual swords that have lightning and close combat damage as locked skills (I forget their names).

Using the green bird guardian spirit (Daiba-Washi is it's name I think) and have my weapons and armor optimized for low stance usage.

Dump the green bird and get Suzaku or Kato... Suzaku is my favorite. Get some amrita earned on your set, combat ki reduction 25% on your weapon, some magatama accessories with living weapon damage boost and lw amrita boost, boost amrita guage on your helm, pleides and extraction in your jutsu... basically pump up your living weapon... bosses will get a lot easier and you will have more fun and thank yourself for putting together a decent LW build.

Maria is a gimmick boss with one single and very obvious flaw that you're meant to exploit.

You're meant to dodge until she attempts to charge up her own version of a living weapon. At that point you head-shot her with a bow (which draws faster than a gun and has faster recovery) to down her and get a fatal blow.

Then you back out and repeat.

i would just say most of us are not skilled enough to fight her legit, just cheese her and save ur hair pulling moment.

I just fought her in abyss 100 . In this floor she no longer die very fast . So I died about 20 times and finally know how to destroy her .

Basically she charged her version of LW at very start of the fight . If you stacks damage buffs , activate LW and your damage is high enough , you can one shot her while she charging her LW . If not , just bait her in medium range and she will use her shock wave attack . Dodge this attack by dashing in front of her when the wave is coming to ur face ( believe me it work ) and run to her back and use strong attack ( I did with Kusarigama LW mode strong attack ) and repeat ! She will die very fast .

Dude in this game, all the bosses are cheap and overleveled just to seem difficult. If you have problems with a boss, there are like 3 things you can do:

1- Learn all the patterns and dodge everything while dealing damage (ninja gaiden style, be ready to waste a lot of time)

2- Farm levels. This game is more rpg than action or skill. For example, you can go to any boss that was kind of hard in the beggining and you will destroy him without effort. Again, this makes you waste time

3- If you cant beat them, you join them in the cheapness. Want to make this game easier? use the sloth talisman. With that this game is like 300% less frustrating. Until you get to centipede date. In that moment, you will know that this game is the cheapest crap ever. Good luck.

:O date centipede is one of the fairest boss fight for dlc tho.....

Yea i know. I like how it kills in one hit, has a ton of hp and how freaking fast his attacks are. That boss is the example of fairness. Is awesome how you want to learn the patterns of the boss but one mstake means dead, so yeah, it takes a lot of time. At least you can block his attacks, so you can get stunned in 1 hit and die. But you can debuff him so its cool, the debuff last like 10 seconds on him but whatever, is fair.

You just needs to space him out and punish some of his moves. If you try to be greedy of cos it's not going to work. Srsly with all your constant salt rant, i really wish you could show us how you play, at least we could know what went wrong, and give adequate advises.

If you are not even trying to rectify or improve, why even bother and spread your toxicity? This game suppose to be hard and frustrating.
