Fire Shuriken or good Ninja skills
Are these good and worth investing Ninja points - like for taking down Saika?

Recently fought Giant Toad in NG+ and he threw something like these at me where if one hits, it latches onto me and goes off after a few seconds like a time bomb.

not really worth it if you not going to use full on throw build.

for utility wise they are ok i guess. if you have spare points to play around u can just try throwing them onto water blobs and observe the effects xD
Witcher 29 ENE 2018 a las 1:53
Noted and thanks, plus I don't have enough Ninjutsu capacity to use them unless I unready Catwalking and/or Suppa which I find are very good at sneaking up and one shot kill low lives ;)

Is fire shuriken or Kayaku-dama more effective against water blobs if not throw built maxed?
Seyren 'D' Windsor 29 ENE 2018 a las 2:13
I am fairly certain that fire, poison and paralysis shuriken don't count as regular shurikens. That means those affixes that speed up shuriken throw speed won't affect them. (correct me if I am wrong)

As a result, some modifiers may not work on them as intended.

Using them for damage is really not the point though. It's for utility, in this case easy burning or poison status. But you will need some hefty Ninjutsu power and augmentation to be able to apply a status in a single throw. (depends on enemy resistances and difficulty)

It's situational, and I do think there are better choices for capacity, but might be exceedingly good if you are a fire build with 900+ Onmyo and Ninjutsu power. It's kind of like flame dragon. Most of its damage comes from Ninjutsu power, but it also gets buffed by Onmyo power to a smaller extent.

Hmm, this is why I tend to spend some time deciding how to invest Stat, bet Ninja and Onmyo skills. I guess it's advisable to focus either on Onmyo or Ninja in the beginning until you have plenty of spare Stat points?

Right now I have 10 Ninja skill points and thinking about Endurance - good?

I did unlock endurance after i run out of stuff to unlock.

Those bombs and mask are pretty good in ng against blob, not sure about ng+ i switch to the crafted fire tailman whenever i need fire buff.

Fire Shuriken is kind of okay if you're trying to get them to burn so you can apply any other elemental status. If you apply two elements total the enemy will practically melt as you bash them.

However, there's better things out there for this. The fire ground traps are far more useful, as they'll knock down humanoids off bridges or in general so you can get the killing blow. Put 2 or 3 bombs in a pathway and you guarantee they'll be lit on fire.

IMO Quick-change is the best ninjutsu you can learn because it gives you free rez, and if you find a couple Iga Ninja equipment pieces you will get them back every time you use living weapon.

I have Quick Change 2 and always use them with Touch Me Not. Are they significantly affected by Ninjutsu power?
Zamus 29 ENE 2018 a las 5:49
Imo do not bother with touch me not, the damage is insignificant, for Magic and Dex I find the 30 capacity cap enough to buy the buffs I want and can carry and still get a decent amount of passive skills to use.

If you want to kill the smaller Umi just get fire talismans, far more utility and you can't run out of them from the omnyo tree, ninjutsu points are better spent elsewhere.
Witcher 29 ENE 2018 a las 13:01
I know Touch Me Not is useless for a 2nd time but it has saved me maybe 1 or 2 out of 5 times when enemies killed me too close - incl. Giant Toad in NG+.

So what Ninja skills do people recommend?
Kaizen 29 ENE 2018 a las 13:04
Just depends on how you play/spec and what you want to use
Medusa balls, for instance, make very short work of humans and many yokai, but you need to be spec'd for it to see the proper benefit

Quick change, tiger sprint are universally useful.

The rest are situational, all the groundtraps. Broth. Catwalk, supple.
Kaizen 29 ENE 2018 a las 13:11
I've never actually been in a stuation where I needed Tiger Sprint or Suppa, disregarding perhaps running past most mobs in the abyss planes to get to the kodama.
I's say all you realled 'needed' in ninjutsu would be quick-change and sneak attack

It's useful for spacing purposes when fighting boss or mobs.
Kaizen 29 ENE 2018 a las 13:19
Meh, more convenience that need, never once felt as if I needed sprint.. not even all that convenient imo, doesn't last al that long either, not even with 700+ ninjutsu power, thought I was always dashing behind every enemy for back attacks with dragon sword.
DooG Is Eternal 29 ENE 2018 a las 13:32
Hard to explain but if you ever fight green birdy without breaking the horn, you will feel the effects. Makes it easier to get out of attack range or projectile tracking without the need to spam evade. Yuki onna ice shards another example, you can just run around in circle and she will never be able to hit you with sprint.
