for utility wise they are ok i guess. if you have spare points to play around u can just try throwing them onto water blobs and observe the effects xD
Is fire shuriken or Kayaku-dama more effective against water blobs if not throw built maxed?
As a result, some modifiers may not work on them as intended.
Using them for damage is really not the point though. It's for utility, in this case easy burning or poison status. But you will need some hefty Ninjutsu power and augmentation to be able to apply a status in a single throw. (depends on enemy resistances and difficulty)
It's situational, and I do think there are better choices for capacity, but might be exceedingly good if you are a fire build with 900+ Onmyo and Ninjutsu power. It's kind of like flame dragon. Most of its damage comes from Ninjutsu power, but it also gets buffed by Onmyo power to a smaller extent.
Right now I have 10 Ninja skill points and thinking about Endurance - good?
Those bombs and mask are pretty good in ng against blob, not sure about ng+ i switch to the crafted fire tailman whenever i need fire buff.
However, there's better things out there for this. The fire ground traps are far more useful, as they'll knock down humanoids off bridges or in general so you can get the killing blow. Put 2 or 3 bombs in a pathway and you guarantee they'll be lit on fire.
IMO Quick-change is the best ninjutsu you can learn because it gives you free rez, and if you find a couple Iga Ninja equipment pieces you will get them back every time you use living weapon.
If you want to kill the smaller Umi just get fire talismans, far more utility and you can't run out of them from the omnyo tree, ninjutsu points are better spent elsewhere.
So what Ninja skills do people recommend?
Medusa balls, for instance, make very short work of humans and many yokai, but you need to be spec'd for it to see the proper benefit
The rest are situational, all the groundtraps. Broth. Catwalk, supple.
I's say all you realled 'needed' in ninjutsu would be quick-change and sneak attack
