End game selling vs disassemble
So I learned pretty quickly to disassemble everything 1st and then sell it, all the forums were saying it as well so I took it as gospel, that is until recently.
So now I'm level 260 and most of the way through wotd, and it's now imperative to do soulmatching to level your gear...money(gold) is now super important, so I've been doing some testing.
In most cases it's now better to sell gear than it is to break it down and then sell it. Am I missing something, or is that breakdown 1st rule of thumb really just meant for early to mid game and not end game?

Once I reached Divines I always broke those down and sold everything else, pumping up your rare materials gain with patronage is important.
It got to a point where I had max Divine Fragents and didn't need any more of those, but the rare materials are still invaluable.
I had no issues colleting gold by simply playing the game, I changed the options to only pick up Divines or higher, so I wasn't even pickin up purple and below at all.
Believe I was sitting around 400million gold when I took a break from playing, after rolling all my gear.
I say do what you need to do, if you need gold sell items, just keep in mind about the rare materials from breaking them down.

When you get 9999 of basic crafting mats which goes rather quickly well you can sell or sell, also sell.

Anything I don't hold onto, I disassemble, and I am far from 9999 of basic crafting materials. Maxxing them out is not something that happens quickly, if ever. You will hit 9999 of the reforging materials/Divine Fragments, potentially, sure.

That said, money isn't really that hard to get ahold of in large amounts and, provided you're doing it responsibly, Soul Matching isn't prohibitively expensive once you're in/past Way of the Demon. Restless Spirits in Omi (a difficulty down from where you are) should be relatively easy and a better source of cash than selling resources you'd have to grind by random chance later.

Although, if your gear is where it's going to be at for the rest of the game, I suppose selling makes more sense than disassembling. Although I doubt it's there pre-Way of the Wise and pre-Post Way of the Nioh Abyss.

I'm seriously just trying to figure out which is the best method of making the most money.
Right now I have my gear at level 180(+16) and weapon 180(+17).... I use the dragon ninja set.

As it is right now my next soulmatch for any piece of armor will cost 4 million+ minimum, so you can see at these prices money is gone very quickly.
As far as patronage goes I have everything maxed and have been using patronage points for some of the upgrades once I save enough points up.

I have sold off all of my saved up smithing materials except for any of the unique stuff like orochi scale, ogress's claw etc... and 20 other similar hard to get stuff like that. I also keep devine fragments.
That being said I'm still not convinced that selling isn't the way to go to get the most money in the shortest amount of time. At this level even some of the blue variant items go for close to 100k a piece. If I were to break that down I wouldn't even get 20k...

Legbone i found out the cheapest way to soulmatch is to find a divine item with "Reset Nº of Soulmatches" and soulmatch it even if its lowlevel to your gear my weapon was asking 14 millions to soulmatch (its 263 and i was trying to make it 270) i then used such item to soulmatch first then i tried again to soulmatch to 270 and it asked less than 200k i think :steammocking: so no need to make millions of gold anymore just find and lock this type os items to not sell or break etc without intention.

Reset Number of Soul Matches is a trait you'll only find on Ethereals, I believe. Way of the Wise or higher. It's what you need to really do aggressive soul matching. You can reroll it when reforging an ethereal or tempering one (although it won't always show up on the table if you're unlucky - might take a few umbracite or mass reforges to roll it onto a table).

It will provide pretty much the highest discount on your soul match possible and will make future soul matches much cheaper until you increase the cost through certain factors.
I don't think I've even seen a item with "Reset Nº of Soulmatches" on it...I will definitely keep my eyes peeled for them now though!

No need, you can reforge it into any etheral armor or weapon, with umbracite you just need to reroll 3 stats to refresh the umbracite options until it appears.
