Less armor = More damage?
So I've been playing this game for a while and have noticed a strange thing. The less armor I wear the more damage I deal. For example my Raikiry with 285 damage deals 358 damage to an enemy but when I unequip all of my armor it deals 398. I experimented a bit and noticed that every piece of armor once equipped reduce your damage. You might say, "Hey you probably have damage multiplier for less armor/agility", but the funny thing I don't. You can try it yourself, it's really confusing.

You have damage bonus less armor affix somewhere?
McChicken Jan 18, 2018 @ 12:41pm
Nope, I unequipped everything. Even with my bare fists I deal 89, but if I equip a helmet for example it scales down to 85.

What guardian spirit?

Fuse-Ushi, but it doesn't matter. I've started new game to see if this effect occurs and it does. Once I've killed the first guard in Tower I took his sword and experimented with it. Naked William deals 148 damage but once I equip the boots he deals 147 this effect stacks with each piece of armor scaling damage to 143 with full gear.

1dmg per piece, seems quite negligible
Good to know I guess

Well it stacks with level. In my case 30-40 per piece. Still not sure is it bug or feature because game doesn't tell you about this dependency.

there is a stat that does what you are saying - Damage Bonus (Less Armor) - now im not sure if it is also part of your base stats as well or if you had it on something else without noticing. But if you are seeing 30-40 per piece im guessing one of those peaces would have it because other mentions even late game do not list anywhere near that amount (I saw someone say 14 damage with an A rating per piece)

Is your normal armor Light, Medium or Heavy?
Sounds like he doesn't have enough points into strength and he's equipping heavy armor

Possible reason. OP have you checked this?

For anyone who is still lurking, I've found this thread on reddit

tl;dr Yes, you deal more damage when your weight is reduced. It is similar to a special effect on certain items which gives you bonus damage for less weight, but in this case you don't have to wear this items, this effect available right from the start (still doesn't know if it stacks). Good news for a light armor players I guess.

No I was running the strength build when I noticed this effect

Good for naked LW min/max build maybe? Interesting to note regardless, is there a stat or something for it somewhere in the menus? I'm not seeing anything for it but I might just be autistic and missed it.
Yeah, Mutabor's link is quite solid. I don't think there's definite confirmation, but it does appear that there's some scaling between bonus damage and the low end of your armor weight.
