Some are great as an onmyo for their talisman attacks (damage, applying elemental effects, knock down, area of effect, destroying non-human ki, the variety is there depending on what you want/need), some are great for their bonuses (if you like having all of the radar effects there is even a spirit that has 3 of them in a single slot), some empower a specific set...
If you frequently rely on living weapon, the charge rate and duration can vary greatly from one spirit to the next as well.
All I can say about the stance buff is that it activates/refreshes when you get amrita (just like other effects that activate on amrita absorption), which is why you would ideally want to couple it with a way to get a constant stream of amrita (extraction talisman and apparently the demon king set but I don't have that one and the wiki doesn't give its effects) in order to keep the buff active for the whole duration of a fight.
I think I'll level up Spirit and give them all a try.
Though some of the passives are pretty good too, like the water dragon for farming amrita to level up; the rat, bat, and rabbit for bonuses to ninja builds; and the tanuki's auto heal at low health goes well with the Tokugawa's clan ability leaves you with 1 health if you're going to die.
I have couple parts of that set.
When you have 5 parts it gives + X amarita on strong attack.
Can be interesting indeed in some builds..
